This banner shows the Reverse design image of a gold coin presented against a picture of "Mona Lisa" or "Monna Lisa"  or "La Joconde". The background is inscribed "Chefs-D'Oeuvre Des Musees LA JOCONDE".

Mona Lisa or Monna Lisa (in Italian) or La Joconde (in French) is a half-length portrait painting by the Italian Renaissance painter Leonardo da Vinci.

The Mona Lisa is one of the world's most valuable paintings and is a portrait of Lisa Gherardini, the wife of Francesco del Giocondo. The painting has been made in oil on a white Lombardy poplar panel and is believed to have been painted between 1503 and 1506, with some later touches being provided by Leonardo way upto 1517 for improving it. 

It was acquired by King Francis I of France and is now the property of the French Republic and has been kept on permanent display at the Louvre Museum in Paris since 1797.

The Mona Lisa painting presents an enigmatic expression and its composition, subtle modelling of forms and atmospheric illusionism are some of the novel qualities which have contributed immensely to the continuing fascination and study of this work by artists, experts, students of art and art enthusiasts.

The Mona Lisa has survived for more than 500 years and is in a remarkable state of preservation, with art preservation experts  taking good care of it over the centuries.

Presently, the painting is kept under strict, climate controlled conditions in its bullet-proof glass case.

Around 6.0 million visitors to the Louvre museum in Paris view this painting every year.

The Commemorative Coins issued by the Monnaie de Paris, France  in 2019, pays a tribute to  the 500th  Anniversary of the passing away of Leonardo da Vinci:

Monnaie de Paris has issued this Commemorative Coin in five variants - Gold - 5000 Euros (1 Kilogram), 500 Euros, 200 Euros, 50 Euros and Silver 20 Euros.

The Obverse design (except for the 1 kilogram 5000 Euros coin) is common to all the coins issued in this Coin Series. 

It depicts several views of many major French museums. An interior view of the Musee d' Orsay, is seen , on the top left, which is recognisable by its distinctive clock. Besides that is a view of the façade of the Louvre as seen from the Napoleon courtyard where the pyramid is located.

Below these two elements, a fresco shows the Hotel sale, which houses the  Picasso Museum. The lower portion of this face features a view of the façade of Hotel Biron, the current Rodin Museum, and above, the famous Centre Pompidou stairway. The country name "Republique Francaise" is also inscribed on this face, together with the denominational value of the coin.

The mint mark "Cornucopia" (the "Horn of Plenty" with gold coins spilling out of it,) of the Paris Mint is placed at the centre left.

The Reverse of all the Coins (except the one kilogram 5000 Euros Coin) depicts the famous masterpiece of Leonardo da Vinci. - the portrait of Monna Lisa in close-up is seen in the middle of the coin.

In the background is the portrait's frame, with the  name of the master-piece - "La Joconde" - and the name of the artist - "Leonard de Vinci". At top left "500 ANS" evokes the 500th Anniversary of the passing away of Leonardo da Vinci (1519-2019). 

The stamp "Chefs d'oeuvre des Musees" has been placed on the right side, below which is the year of issue "2019."

The Reverse of the 5000 Euros Gold one Kilogram coin shows a depiction of the Mona Lisa Painting, without any inscriptions.

This is an exceptional hand-engraved One-kilogram Coin, which is a tribute to Leonardo da Vinci and to his masterpiece displayed at the Louvre. Perfectly produced, this coin engraving idealises Mona Lisa by an ethereal drawing of the well-known pyramid, another major symbol of the Louvre Museum, which bedecks her like a halo. In the background, the finely chiselled landscape corresponds to the painting's.

To make it come to life, Joaquin Jimenez, the Director of Engraving Creation at Monnaie de Paris, immersed himself in history and Leonardo's countless creations/achievements.

This exceptional Coin, allegory of the creative genius, is presented in a black lacquer case, so as to, enable its exposure while protecting it. A golden frame, identical to the one of the master-piece, surrounds its cradle.

Slipped in a discreet compartment, a pair of gloves, indispensable to its handling is accompanied by a brochure and a Certificate of Authenticity (COA).

With only 19 copies minted, the Kilo Gold Coin is a priceless possession for collectors.
