The Ufficio Filatelico e Numismatico Governatorato della Citta del Vaticano (meaning "Office of the Philatelic and Numismatic Governor of the Vatican City") has commenced the issue of new Gold Coins which kick-start a three year Gold Coin release dedicated to the Archangels - Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. It is believed that praying to and entrusting those who look to the archangels to help fight against the downward temptations of life, are co-operating in "God's plan of salvation".

Beginning with 2019, the Vatican Treasury has released the first coin featuring the archangel Michael.

The Coin Series begins with Michael. Known in many Christian denominations as "Saint Michael the Archangel" or "Saint Michael", he is mentioned in both the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament's Book of Revelation".

As a leader of the holy legion, Michael has a devoted following. He became the patron saint of the Holy Roman Empire after the victorious battle of Lechfeld in 955.

He is referred to as one "who fights against the devil". His primary Western liturgical feast day in celebrated on 29/09 and is referred to as "Michaelmas". In the Eastern liturgical calendar, his feast day is on 08/11, when all the archangels are honoured.

On the base, the coin bears the Coat of Arms of both popes.

The denomination of the coin - "200 EURO" is placed on the centre left periphery arranged both in horizontal and vertical directions.

  2. Your blog is very informative. Eating mindfully has been very hard for people these days. It's all because of their busy schedules, work or lack of focus on themselves. As a student I must admit that I have not been eating mindfully but because of this I will start now. It could help me enjoy my food and time alone. Eating mindfully may help me be aware of healthy food and appreciating food.KAG Merchandise
