Rs. 50/- Quaternary Silver + 40% Copper, 5% Zinc & 5% Nickel Proof Coins mark 50th Anniversary of National Renewal Energy Corporation (1975-2025) minted by the India Government Mint (IGM) Mumbai.

The commemorative NHPC logo is featured on the Reverse.

The Coin:

The proof quality coins are produced at India’s Hyderabad Mint at their facilities in Secunderabad in the Indian state of Telangana on behalf of the Security Printing & Minting Corporation of India Limited. 

The Reverse of the Rs.50/- Quaternary Silver Proof Coin includes the commemorative NHPC logo which features the word "Celebrating" and numeral "50" combined with an image of a solar panel, a hydroelectric generator and a windmill. 

The commemorative years "1975" and "2025" are shown above the numeral and the text "Years" is placed below. 

Along the upper periphery above the primary design is the text in Hindi "हरित ऊर्जा के 50 वर्ष" and along the lower periphery is the translation in English of the Hindi inscription "50 YEARS OF GREEN ENERGY". The mintmark "H" (denoting the India Government Mint, Hyderabad is placed just to the right of the year of issue. 

The Obverse of the Rs.50/- Quaternary Silver Proof Coin includes the national Emblem/insignia, of the Government of India - the Ashoka Lion Pedestal, along with denomination "₹ 50" which is placed below. 

The lettering "भारत" and "INDIA" is placed on either side of the Emblem of the Government of India.

The inscription in Hindi "सत्यमेव जयते" (Satyamev Jayate (meaning - "Truth always triumphs") is placed below the Emblem.
