1394)  The Finno-Ugric Peoples of Europe, Estonia: The second of the two Euro Zone circulation coins to be released in 08/2021 by the Bank of Estonia:

The Bank of Estonia has unveiled two designs for release in 2021, the second of which features the Finno-Ugric Peoples in Europe.

The Bank of Estonia operates as part of the European Union's (EU) Euro-system of banks which are a part of the Euro-zone and is entitled to issue two separate commemorative 2-Euro circulation coins every year.

The second of the Bank of Estonia's circulation coin to be released in spring 2021 is dedicated to the Finno-Ugric peoples in Europe of which ethnic Estonians, Finns, Karelians and Hungarians belong to.

The winning design chosen from a world-wide design competition was that of Madis Poldsaar, a graphic designer.

The  design is inspired by the cave drawings of Lake Aanisjarv, in which symbols for the hunter, the elk, the water bird and the sun form the symbolic circle of life for the Finno-Ugric peoples. The central figure is a water bird, as the modern and ancient Finno-Ugric peoples are peoples of the water bird.

The Reverse of the 2 Euro Circulation Coin shows the design as described above.

The Obverse of the 2 Euro Circulation Coin would bear a common design seen on all circulation coins of the European Zone.
