On 06.09.2019 the State Committee of Information Technology and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic puts into circulation a series of Kyrgyz Express Post (KEP) Postage Stamps titled - "Kyrgyz Republic Red data Book (II) - Reptiles and amphibians", featuring the Desert Monitor, Russian Tortoise, Central Asiatic Frog and Renard's Meadow Viper.

The First Day Cover (FDC) included in this Stamp issue. 

At bottom left, is seen an image of the European Green Toad (Bufo viridis) - which is not included in the four stamps which include the - Desert Monitor (50 KGS), Russian Tortoise (75 KGS, Central Asian Frog (100 KGS) and Renard's Meadow Viper (150 KGS).

The Postage stamps have been affixed to a specially designed envelope and have been cancelled with a special pictorial first day cancellation bearing an image of the Central Asian Frog in the Centre. The Cancellation is of Bishkek Post Office and is dated "06.09.2019".

The specifications of the FDC are: Size: 190.0 mm x 130.0 mm; No. of FDCs issued: 300 pieces; Value: 435 KGS; Date of issue: 06.09.2019.

Exhibition Card:

This is Kyrgyz Express Post's (KEP's) first Exhibition  Card, which will be presented at Sberatel Exhibition in Prague in 09/2019.

The details of this Exhibition Card are:

Size: 148.0 mm 105.0 mm; No. of Cards issued: 150; Value: 405 KGS.

i) Desert Monitor ("Varanus griseus"): This is a large reptile of the genus Varanus, which is very rare in Kyrgyzstan. Its representatives can be found mainly in the deserts and semi-deserts, as well as. in the foothills of the ridges.

The above Postage Stamp (S) is of the denomination of 50 KGS and depicts the Desert Monitor, up close and in full body.

The specifications of this Stamp are:

Size: 69.0 mm x 27.50 mm; Face value: 50 KGS; Perforation: comb 14:14-1/2; No. of Stamps issued: 8,000 pieces.

The Mini-Sheet (MS) of 5 Stamps of 50 KGS each and a coupon/label.

The details are - Size: 159 mm x 108 mm; No. of MS issued: 1,200; Value of MS: 250 KGS. 

ii) Russian Tortoise (Agrionemys horsfieldii): 

This is a tortoise from the "Testudinidae" (land turtles) family. These reptiles are mainly found in desert areas with thickets of wormwood, tamarisk, saxaul, and also in foothills up to 1,300 metres above sea-level.
The above Postage Stamp (S) is of the denomination of 75 KGS and shows the Russian Tortoise up close and full body.

The specifications of this Stamp are:

Size: 60.0 mm x 27.50 mm; Denomination/Face Value: 75 KGS; Perforation: comb 14: 14-1/2; No. of Stamps issued: 8,000 pieces.

The Mini-Sheet (MS) of 5 Stamps of 75 KGS each and a coupon/label.

The details are: - Size: 159.0 mm x 108.0 mm; No. of MS issued: 1,200; Value of MS: 375 KGS.

iii) Central Asiatic Frog ("Rana Asiatic Bedriaga"): This frog is a member of the "Anura" order. These frogs are small in size, their body length can be up to 80.0 mm. The Central Asiatic Frog is mainly found in the North-east of Kyrgyzstan, as well as, in certain areas of Kazakhstan and China.

The above Postage stamp (S) is of the denomination of 100 KGS and shows the Central Asiatic frog up close and in full body.

The specifications of this Stamp are:

Size: 69.0 mm x 27.50 mm; Face value/Denomination: 100 KGS; Perforation: comb 14: 14-1/2; No. of stamps issued: 8,000 pieces.

iv) Renard's Meadow Viper ("Vipera renardi"): This is a species of venomous snake from the viper family. Although this snake is poisonous, it does not pose a serious danger to humans. Aside from the important role of the Renard's Meadow Viper venom, used in medicine, these reptiles make significant contributions to the ecological balance by consuming rodents and locusts in large quantities.
The above Postage Stamp (S) is of the denomination of 150 KGS and shows the Renard's Meadow Viper up close and in full body.

The specifications of this Stamp are:
