1150) Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice: A $20 (Twenty Canadian Dollars) Silver Coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint: Coin issue date/year: 2016:

Superman (The Man of Steel) and the Batman are two of the most famour/iconic super-heroes in comic-book history.

Superman is widely regarded as the first comic book hero ever, while Batman is a popular hero with a dark side, willing to be the villain in the public eye, if he can save his beloved Gotham from itself.

In the story-line surrounding Batman v. Superman, the world's two iconic superheroes collide as Superman vies to rid the world of a "misunderstood" Batman. With unlimited powers between them, this battle threatened to destroy mankind altogether.

In 2016, the Royal Canadian Mint issued a series of coins in Silver (Ag) and Gold (Au), with 1/4 oz. coins offering four designs in all during the year.

The Silver Coin:

Interestingly, this $20 Coin was offered by the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) to collectors/coin enthusiasts at an exchange value of $20 with an eye on promoting this popular product, which was a fast selling/popular item.

The Reverse of the $20 (Twenty Dollars) Silver Coin depicts an image of Superman and Batman locked in battle.

The frosted finish of the coin presents a great visual appeal to the coin.

The peripheral inscriptions (on the left to lower periphery) are - "FINE SILVER 9999 ARGENT PUR (20 DOLLARS). On the top periphery, is the year of issue "2016". On the right periphery is inscribed "DC" (the trademark of DC Comics which has provided this image to the RCM).

In the above image, the coin is shown as it is placed in the coin album, with the silhouettes of Superman and Batman looming large in the background over a city as they battle each other.

The Reverse of a $20 (Twenty Dollars) partially coloured Coin depicting The two super-heroes engaged in battle.

The background image in this coin album shows Superman using his super-human powers to subdue Batman.

The Obverse of this variant of the $20 (Twenty Dollars) Silver Coin, presents a right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II.

The peripheral inscriptions read - "ELIZABETH II. D.G. REGINA. CANADA" (meaning "Elizabeth II, By the Grace of God, Queen")

The Obverse of the Partially Coloured $20 (Twenty Dollars) Silver Coin shows the right facing profile of the Queen, with similar inscriptions as in the other variant.

In the background of this page of the coin album is shown an identical image of the two superheroes battling each other.

This page of the Coin album gives a brief about the Coin collections minted by the RCM and how to go about booking them.

It also details the specifications of this coin:
