The Royal Canadian Mint have begun a three Silver Coin Series titled "Majestic Birds in Motion" which highlights the "Marvel of Avian Flight".

Between the realms of the land and sky, a bird's airborne agility almost always inspires awe. The Coin Series features some of Canada's most familiar birds/feathered icons in flight, whose graceful movements in the sky are reproduced on the coins by using multi-frame holograms.

This technology involves multi-frame holograms embedded on each coin, which imparts a realistic depiction of movement. This is combined with a stunning use of selective colour to recreate the bird's plumage colours and the easily identifiable features of each species. By using Proof strikes with a polished mirror-like finish, the engraved setting on each coin features crisp details that beautifully brings out the enhanced design elements.

The three Coins included in the Series feature Canadian Geese (first Coin released on 25.07.2019), the Great Horned Owl (Second Coin - scheduled to be released on 09/2019) and the Golden Eagles (slated for release in 11/2019).

The Canadian Goose (First Coin in the Series):

The Reverse of the 30 Canadian Dollars Silver Coin steps out from the Canadian wilderness, where the mountain peaks and evergreens add a soaring sense of majesty to the engraved lake setting as a selectively coloured Canadian Goose, depicted just before lift-off, is seen on this coin, with its black head thrust forward, wings spread wide in order to gain momentum, as it rushes headlong into the direction of its intended flight, to join the other birds in the flock in the sky - already airborne. The inscription on each of the three Reverses is "CANADA 2019".

The hologram struck on the Reverse allows for a smooth transition between wing-beats and provides a realistic depiction of movement.

The Obverse of the 30 Canadian Dollars Silver Coin, depicts an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The peripheral inscriptions are - "ELIZABETH II REGINA" and "30 DOLLARS".
