The 7 Summits Coin Series:

The 7-Summits included in this Coin Series have featured on several Coins/Coin Series across the world, over the years. Coin Invest Trust (CIT) too has previously issued coins with mountains and flora as their themes.

These seven summits are the highest mountains on each of the seven continents and enthralling subjects of one of CIT Coin Invest’s latest series, which displays the peaks in topographic detail from an unusual bird’s eye perspective in solid 5 ounces of fine silver.

It is a new and highly exclusive limited-edition series dedicated to the world's seven most spectacular peaks, beginning with the Series initiator - DENALI - which was presented during the 2016 American Numismatic Association (ANA) World Fair of Money (WFM) exhibition.

The Reverse of the first coin in the Series issued in 2016 is titled "Denali-Alaska Range - North America - The 7 Summits"

The coins have been minted in breath-taking highly detailed, three-dimensional topographic relief with its exclusive "Smartminting" technology which is the hallmark of CIT's innovative Silver Coin Minting technology, with a refined selective colour application, that accentuates the mountain ridges and valleys, these coins are a beautiful and fascinating numismatic work of art.

All the coins in the Series are being minted by B.H. Mayer's Kunstprageanstalt GmbH.

The "DENALI" Coin was followed by six other issues so far - "MOUNT EVEREST" (2017), "ACONCAGUA" (2018), "MOUNT KILIMANJARO" (2019), "CARSTENZ PYRAMID" (2020), "MOUNT ELBRUS" (2021) and the latest one "MOUNT VINSON (2022):

The 7-Summits Silver Coin Series:

The seventh Coin in this popular Coin Series depicts Mount Vinson:

About Mount/Massif Vinson:

Mount Vinson is a large mountain Massif in Antarctica that is 21.00 km (13.00 mi) long and 13.00 km (8.00 mi) wide and lies within the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains.

It overlooks the Ronne Ice Shelf near the base of the Antarctic Peninsula. The massif is located about 1,200 kilometres (750.00 mi) from the South Pole.

Vinson Massif was discovered in January 1958 by U.S. Navy aircraft.

In 1961, the Vinson Massif was named by the Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN), after Carl G. Vinson, United States congressman from the state of Georgia, for his support for Antarctic exploration.

On November 1, 2006, US-ACAN declared Mount Vinson and Vinson Massif to be separate entities.

Vinson Massif lies within the Chilean claim under the Antarctic Treaty System.

Mount Vinson is the highest peak in Antarctica, at 4,892 metres (16,050 ft).

It lies in the North part of Vinson Massif's summit plateau in the South portion of the main ridge of the Sentinel Range about 2.00 kilometres (1+1⁄4 mi) North of Hollister Peak.

It was first climbed in 1966 by an American team led by Nicholas Clinch.

An expedition in 2001 was the first to climb via the Eastern route, and also took GPS measurements of the height of the peak.

The Coin:

This 7th edition of the Seven Summits Series impresses with Coin Invest Trust's (CIT's) enhanced smartminting® technology that presents Mount Vinson in all its beauty.

The ultra-high relief extends well above the surface of the coin.

This Coin presents the final challenge in the pursuit of conquering the 7 Summits.

A bone-chilling wind whips across as we battle our way through the Antarctic. Crossing snow-covered plains in an extremely hazardous part of the world.

Before long, Mount Vinson looms before us, overlooking the icy wasteland.

As mentioned earlier in this post, it is located on the Southern part of the Sentinel Range, Antarctic’s highest mountain is more than 1,200 kilometres (750 miles) from the South Pole, making it the most remote of the 7 Summits.

Covered in ice and snow, it was the last of the famous Summits to be discovered in 1957, climbed in 1966 and finally named in 2006. Hence, Mount Vinson is the perfect choice to complete this stupendous 7 Summits series.

On the Reverse of the 25 Dollars Silver Coin is seen the Vinson Mountain from a bird's eye-perspective, its majestic heights cast in three-dimensional topographic relief.

The peripheral inscriptions are - "MT VINSON. 4892 M. SENTINAL RANGE. ANTARCTICA". On the lower periphery is inscribed the Series name - "THE 7-SUMMITS".

The Silver Coin placed on its side shows the High Relief Contours of Mount Vinson.

On the Obverse of the 25 Dollars Silver Coin is seen an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right. The initials of the effigy designer "Ian Rank-Broadley" (IRB) appear below the Queen's neck. The peripheral inscriptions are - 'ELIZABETH II, COOK ISLANDS, 25 DOLLARS, .999" (Fineness Silver).
