1370) New Zealand "Bear Hunt": A set of six stamps brought out by New Zealand Post, supporting the Red Cross - featuring Teddy Bears, selected to exemplify the creativity and care put into the Bear Hunt by and for Kiwis: Date of Stamp set issue: 20.05.2020:

New Zealand Post came out with a country-wide Teddy "Bear Hunt" and selected six of the most endearing ones. Each of these Teddies is a special one and comes with its own story.

This six Stamp set has been presented in a commemorative Stamp Sheet (SS), based on selection of six New Zealand households to exemplify the creativity and care put into the bear hunt by and for Kiwis.

Stamp 1: $1.30 Theodore Bear:

Theodore Bear and Rudolph (he's holding the ladder) have had daily adventures for the local children and there are funny stories written on them shared on Facebook pages and the Bear Hunt page. This has had a great impact on the young and old New Zealanders, so much so that a book is being written on him.

Stamp 2: $1.30 Hay Hay Bear:

Hay Hay Bear belongs to a family which lives a semi-urban lifestyle block about 2.0 kilometres out of Darfield and the family has all the products needed to make Hay Hay Teddy replicas. An incredible number of children and young families walk or cycle along Hay Hay Bear's home, particularly during the Chinese Wuhan Virus lockdown and shown tremendour interest in Hay Hay Bear.

Stamp 3: $1.30 Lubert:

Lubert was made for its little owner by her grandmother's friend - Mrs. Beard. He is an exclusive - one of a type - bear. He came with his very own birth certificate and a blue jersey. Mrs. Beard passed away a few years ago and she made several bears for kids in Taupo. Lubert is very special for its little owner. Whenever there is an earthquake Lupert is taken to a safe place, because there will not be another Lubert. Lubert is a quiet and calm bear and likes reading and cuddles.

Stamp 4: $2.60 Childhood Bear:

Childhood Bear if now over 55 years old and has been with its owner since childhood. The fur has been well worn off with cuddles and adventures and the Teddy has undergone several repairs. His little owner made trousers and his first scarf. He wears his Poppy and guts and glory pin, for pride and remembrance of his little owner's ANZAC father taken so young due to Agent Orange.

Childhood Bear is a much travelled bear and has been everywhere with its owner , including Christchurch, Burnham, Terendek Commonwealth Forces Military Camp, Malacca, Malaysia, Singapore, Auckland, University etc.

Stamp 5: $2.60 Little Ted:

Little Ted lives in a house that has a fair number of Teddies and cuddly toys. During the New Zealand wide Bear Hunt, he was shifted to the letterbox, so as to add to his visibility with children walking by or cycling past. Luckily he got spotted for being on a stamp.

Stamp 6: $2.60 Frontliner Bear:

During lockdown, Frontliner Bear was crocheted and put in a window to honour the work of medical workers that were working hard at the hospital. The Bear was inspired by a crochet designer from "Yarn It, Darn It", who had made the pattern for "Frontline Hero Bear". This Bear represents and honours medical workers fighting hard against the Chinese Wuhan Virus.
