1346)  Hole Cards, "Queens (Ladies)", Republic of Palau: Two Copper-Zinc Alloy coins of $1 (One dollar) denomination featuring upper left corners of "Queens (Ladies)" Cards from the World Series Poker, Las Vegas: Year of Coin set issue: 2009:

Texas Hold "Em is wildly popular and played throughout the casinos of "Sin City" (Las Vegas).

Annually, its main event and draw is the World Series of Poker.

In "Texas Hold 'em" which is the most popular and mostly played version, two cards are handed out, which have several nicknames for different combinations of these "Hole Cards".

The term "Hole Card" refers to two cards that the player keeps hidden during play. The nickname for the special "Hole Card" combination of two queens is "Ladies". "Cowboys" or "King Kong" on the other hand refers to a pair of Kings.

The two Queens rate among the strongest start hands in the version - "Texas Hold 'em". When holding this combination, the player is in a comfortable beginning situation.

The first three open community cards are called a "Flop". When one has Queens, it is advisable to place enough chips into the pot before the flop is laid. By doing so, several fellow players may abandon their claim to the pot, give up and fold. If they have aces and kings, they would overpower the Queens.

Depending on the number of players at the table, the player with Queens has an over 20% chance of winning the pot.

The Coins:

The upper left corner of two different playing cards from the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas feature on each coin.
