The Coin Series includes six enchanting flowers coins - Lotus, Orchid, Shrub Althea, Peony, Cherry Blossom and Rose, all issued by Niue from 2019 onwards. Minted in unique flower shapes, the exquisite coins are illustrated in ultra-high relief with stunning enamel and lucent colours.

Enchanting Lotus:

Lotus is the national flower of India and Vietnam and also the region flower of Macau.

The Enchanting Lotus is a symbol of purity and enlightenment. Its roots grow in muddy water and the flower rises above the surface to bloom clean and fragrant, with remarkable beauty.

In Buddhism, the lotus signifies how human beings strive to overcome the sufferings in life and break free to gain enlightenment. A fully bloomed lotus represents enlightenment.

The effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right is depicted in the centre of this face of the coin. The edge inscriptions are - "ELIZABETH II, NIUE, TWO DOLLARS. 2019" and "1 Oz. 999 FINE SILVER".
