Last year’s Coin release in this Coin Series was - Madonna of Bruges.

The 2021 is dedicated to Ravana, the King of Demons. He had the intelligence and knowledge of at least ten men and is, therefore, portrayed as a King having ten heads.

Ravana,  is the dreaded antagonist in the Ramayana, one of the oldest Sanskrit epics to date. He clashes with  Lord Ram of Hindu Mythology, who is believed to be the 7th reincarnation of the  Hindu God Vishnu.

Legend has it that he kidnaps Rama’s wife Sita, (who in some versions/interpretations is believed to be his own daughter). Despite being equipped with lethal weapons and fighting valiantly, Ravana's armies suffered a crushing defeat. He, too,  was mortally wounded by one of Rama’s arrows.

Thanks to the enhanced Smartminting®    technique  this story is depicted on a special shaped fully gilded ultra high relief 3 oz silver piece. It is partially coloured, individually numbered and limited to only 501 pieces world-wide.

The Commemorative Coin:

The Reverse of the $20 Dollars Silver Gilded Coin depicts Ravana in his full majesty.
