1619) Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation- 2020 (APEC 2020), Malaysia: A Silver 10 Ringgit and a Nordic Gold 1.0 Ringgit Coins issud by the Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank of Malaysia): Year of Coin issue: 2020:

The "Bank Negara Malaysia" (Central Bank of Malaysia) has issued a pair of commemorative coins in coordination with the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic meeting held on 20.11.2020.

 Both coins were minted with two contrasting surface techniques - advanced laser technology and digital frosting.


The Obverse of the 10 Ringgit Silver Coin is  decorated with a color element on the center of the  which represents Malaysia’s rich culture with a floral background on the top half of this face.

The inscriptions are - "BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA", "10 RINGGIT", "APEC 2020 - MALAYSIA".

The Reverse of the 10 Ringgit Silver Coin features an artistic representation of 21 human figures which symbolises the collaboration of the 21 APEC member economies in sustaining continued growth and development in the region as they strive for a future of shared prosperity.

The inscription on the upper periphery reads - "ASIA-PACIFIC ECONOMIC COOPERATION 2020", which connects directly to the event, while on the lower periphery (in smaller lettering) is inscribed the "2020" theme of the APEC meeting - "OPTIMISING HUMAN POTENTIAL TOWARDS A FUTURE OF SHARED PROSPERITY." 

The specifications of the Silver Coin are:

Coin Theme: Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2020; Denomination: 10 Ringgit; Metal Composition: .999 Fineness Silver (Ag); Weight: 1.0 Oz or 31.1 grams; Coin Quality: Proof with selective colouring; Mintage: 1,000 pieces; Minted By: Bank Negara Malaysia; Year: 2020.

The smaller 1 Ringgit coin is minted in Nordic gold, without color elements and will be widely available to collectors with a mintage of 15,000 pieces.
