1343) Presidential Inauguration, Republic of China (Taiwan): Gold (2,000 Dollars) & Silver (200 Dollars) coins celebrate the inauguration ceremony of incumbent President Tsai Ing-wen and Vice President-elect Lai Ching-te being held on 20.05.2020:

The Central Bank of the Republic  of China (Taiwan) has announced on 06.05.2020, the release of commemorative Gold and Silver Coins in celebration of the inauguration ceremony of incumbent President Tsai Ing-wen and Vice President-elect Lai Ching-te, which  will be held on 20.05.2020.

President Tsai won her second election as President of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and Lai Ching-te was chosen as her running mate for her second term.

The election was held on 11.01.2020 in which the Democratic Progressive Party won the election, defeating the Kuomintang (KMT) candidates.

The inauguration of the President is the 15th such ceremony since the establishment of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in 1949 and the 7th Presidential election by popular vote.

The Commemorative Coins:

The Banner/Header showing the Reverses and Obverses of the Gold (2,000 Dollars) and Silver Coins (200 Dollars) together with their Presentation Cases

The Coins have been minted in Gold and Silver and are of Proof quality. 

The Reverses of the Coins include front-facing portraits of President Tsai and Vice President Lai. 

Above their images is a commemorative inscription in Chinese  characters which reads - "Commemoration of the 15th President of the Republic of China inauguration". Below their portraits is the date of their inauguration.

The Obverses of the Coins include the Emblem of the President of the Republic of China (President of Taiwan), along with the Metal Composition and Fineness of the Coins.

Below the Emblem is the commemorative inacription in English which reads - "COMMEMORATING THE 20TH MAY 2020 INAUGURATION OF THE PRESIDENT AND VICE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA (TAIWAN).

The specifications of the Gold variant are:

Denomination: 2,000 Dollars; Metal Composition: .9999 Fineness Gold (Au); Weight: 31.1 grams or 1.0 Oz; Diameter/Size: 33.0 mm; Coin Quality: Proof; Maximum Mintage: 10,000 pieces; Year: 2020.
