The Header/Banner shows the Obverse and Reverse of the One Sucre Silver Coin, along with the mint marks of the Central Bank of Ecuador and the Fabrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre — Real Casa de la Moneda (The Spanish Mint).

In the lower half of the Header is seen the Emblems of Qatar and Ecuador, with a football placed in a football playground.

The Banco Central Del Ecuador has issued on 17.11.2022 Silver Proof Commemorative coins, which celebrate the country’s National Football Team which is participating in FIFA’s World Cup tournament in Qatar.

Since the organisation of the World Cup in 1930, Ecuador has qualified four times; the first being in 2002.

The Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE) has celebrated the fourth participation of the Ecuadorian team in a FIFA World Cup tournament with the minting of a commemorative coin "FIFA World Cup 2022 – IV participation of Ecuador" with the support of its Numismatic Museum.

The design of the coin has the approval of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

Previous too, for Ecuador’s participation in the FIFA World Cup in Germany 2006 and Brazil in 2014, a commemorative coin for the National Team competing in Qatar 2022 has been authorised by the Banco Central

All 26 national players on La Tri, as they’re known in Ecuador, are travelling to Qatar and will be on the roster.

Ecuador’s debut in the World Cup tournament was against the host country’s team, Qatar, held on the 20th November.

Ecuador’s 2-0 win over Qatar in the World Cup opener included two goals by the same player and gave the squad from this South American country a comfortable win in the first game of the 2022 World Cup after an unexpected loss from Qatar. Enner Valencia scored two goals in the opening match and narrowly missed a third which would have got him a hat-trick. This was the first time that any player has ever scored two goals in the first game of the World Cup.

Unfortunately, with this loss, Qatar became the first host nation to lose the opening game in the World Cup’s history.

The Commemorative Coins:

The silver and colour Proof coins have been minted by the Fabrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre — Real Casa de la Moneda at their facilities in Madrid, on behalf of the Banco Central Del Ecuador.

As the coin has been minted by the Spanish Royal Mint, its characteristics are those of the traditional Silver Eight Reales.

The Obverse of the One Sucre Silver and Coloured Coin shows the outline of a soccer ball on which the Coat of Arms/Emblem of the Republic of Ecuador is super-imposed over in full colour. The inscription "Republica Del Ecuador" is inscribed above the primary design along with the metal composition of the coin "L. 0.925" (placed to the left) and the coin's denomination "UN SUCRE" (placed below the design along the edge. The coin's weight "27 gr." is inscribed at right.

The Reverse of the One Sucre Silver and Coloured Coin shows the logo of the World Cup, which is shown in full colour.

The commemorative text "Copa Mundial de la FIFA 2022" ("World Cup of FIFA 2022") is inscribed above the primary design along with the text - "IV PARTICIPATION DE ECUADOR" (4th Participation of Ecuador"), inscribed below the World.
