Unique designs issued by the US Mint have featured earlier on proof American Platinum Eagles.

Dating back to 1997, precious metal issues have featured several popular themes. Prior-year issues have showcased various themes like "Vistas of Liberty" and "Foundations of Democracy."

The three most recent program coins centered on the "Preamble to the Constitution" with the 2018 "Life" coin, the 2019 "Liberty" coin and the 2020 "Pursuit of Happiness" coin.

The United States Mint is now launching a new five-year Platinum Proof Coin Program series starting in 2021 and continuing through 2025:

The new series features an all-new Obverse (heads) designs, as well as a new common Reverse (tails) design on a one-ounce, 99.95 percent platinum Proof coin each year.

The Coins being issued in this Series highlight the Five Freedoms enshrined in the "First Amendment to the United States Constitution",  which state that:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

This Coin Series uses the "lifecycle of the oak tree from seedling to a mighty oak as a metaphor for our country’s growth as a nation that values freedom".

Liberty grows to a thing of strength and beauty from a seed — the United States Bill of Rights. Each of the freedoms enumerated in the First Amendment contributes to the growth and development of the Nation.

All Reverse designs in this series were created by Artistic Infusion Program (AIP) Designer Donna Weaver and engraved by Chief Engraver Joseph Menna.

The five Coin themes/designs will be as under:

i) The 2021 Reverse design depicts a seedling and an acorn surrounded by the inscription "WITH FREEDOM OF RELIGION LIBERTY GROWS".

ii) The 2022 Reverse design features a juvenile oak tree framed with the inscription “WITH FREEDOM OF SPEECH LIBERTY BLOSSOMS.”

iii) The 2023 Reverse design portrays the branch of a mature oak tree with acorns amid the inscription “WITH FREEDOM OF THE PRESS LIBERTY BEARS FRUIT.”

iv) The 2024 Reverse design showcases several types of oak leaves assembled between the inscription “WITH THE RIGHT TO ASSEMBLE LIBERTY SPREADS.”

v) The 2025 and final Reverse design of this series features a mature spreading, impressive oak tree between the inscription “WITH THE RIGHT TO PETITION LIBERTY ENDURES.”

The oak, known for its strength, can live up to 200 years and is a symbol of endurance.

Additional obverse coin inscriptions are "IN GOD WE TRUST, E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the "year" the coin is issued.

The 2021 $100 Platinum Proof Coin:

The Reverse and Obverse of the $100 (One Hundred Dollars) Platinum Proof Coin placed alongside the Certificate of authenticity and the Presentation Case/Box.

The first coin in the series, the 2021 First Amendment to the United States Constitution platinum Proof coin — "Freedom of Religion", was issued on 04.02.2021.

The Reverse of the $100 (One Hundred Dollars) Platinum Proof Coin minted by the West Point Mint (mint mark "W") depicts a seedling and an acord surrounded by an inscription "WITH FREEDOM OF RELIGION LIBERTY GROWS", "IN GOD WE TRUST", "E.PLURIBUS UNUM" and the year of issue "2021".

The common Obverse design of the $100 (One Hundred Dollars) Platinum Proof Coin issued in this series, depicts an eagle in flight, an olive branch in its talons. This design was shared on the 2019- and 2020-dated editions and is being engraved on the Platinum Proof Coins, which have been designed by Artistic Infusion Program Designer Patricia Lucas-Morris and sculpted by Medallic Artist Don Everhart.

The inscriptions are "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", "$100", "1 OZ.", and ".9995 PLATINUM".

Each coin is encapsulated and inserted in a black presentation box. An image of the obverse design is incorporated on the outer packaging sleeve and on the certificate of authenticity.
