4549) “4 Seasons – Summer ("4 Seasons Serie)” 2026, Swiss Mint, Switzerland: 20-Franc Silver Special Coin: Date/Year of Coin issue: 11.06.2026:

On 11 June 2026, Swissmint has issued the new 20-franc special silver coin, “4 Seasons – Summer”. This special silver coin (fine silver 999) is the first in the new four-part series “The 4 Seasons”.

In Switzerland, the four seasons are clearly distinct from one another. They divide the year into four periods, defined by astronomical, calendar or climatic characteristics. These four seasons result from the tilt of the Earth’s axis (approximately 23.5°) and the Earth’s orbit around the Sun. This alters the intensity, duration and angle of incidence of sunlight at a given location.

In summer, the northern hemisphere is tilted most towards the sun and thus receives more light and heat during this season.

The sun therefore features as the symbol of this season on the obverse of the coin.

A world map centred on Switzerland is depicted in filigree at the heart of the radiant sun.

At the bottom left is the constellation typical of summer, the “Summer Triangle”. Along the edge of the coin are the words “Estate” (summer in Italian), as well as “giugno, luglio, agosto”, the Italian names for the months of June, July and August.

The Coin:

The four seasons are depicted on the face values of the “4 Seasons” series using a stylised vegetation cycle.

The section representing summer is raised and polished; the plant appears in full bloom.

Around the edge of the coin is the face value of CHF 20, the inscription “CONFOEDERATIO HELVETICA”, the minting year 2026 and the mint mark "B" (for the Bern Mint -Swissmint).

The coin will be released in a limited issue comprising 8,000 coins in uncirculated quality in the blister and 3,500 coins in proof quality in presentation case. The proof silver coins are coloured in the shade typical of the season.
