About Europa 2021 - Stamps:
EUROPA Stamps are special stamps issued by European postal administrations.
They bear the official EUROPA logo, a PostEurop registered trademark under the aegis of PostEurop in which Europe is the central theme.
EUROPA stamp issues are among the most collected and most popular stamps in the world and have been issued for over 60 years.
Every year a new theme is assigned by PostEurop and all participating countries issue stamps with their own interpretation of the theme. The theme for 2021 is "Endangered National Wildlife".

About Europa 2021 - "Endangered National Wildlife Stamps issued by Swiss Post:
This year’s PostEurop stamp theme is ‘Endangered National Wildlife’, and Swiss Post has depicted two Butterflies which are critically endangered.
These beautiful stamps feature species that are locally registered from critically endangered through to near threatened.
The Stamps:
Two butterflies have featured on this year's EUROPA Stamps from Switzerland – two butterflies that could hardly be more different. But they do have one thing in common: both are classified as endangered species in Switzerland.
The designs featured on the "EUROPA" stamps are of the Woodland Brown ("Lopinga achine") and the Scarce Large Blue ("Phengaris teleius") – because insects are also classified as wild animals.
The illustrations seek to highlight the delicate nature of these animals through a highly detailed and lifelike style.
The meticulous presentation and vibrant background colours aim to catch the eye and emphasize the fact that the animals are under threat.
The First Day Cover (FDC) has the two EUROPA Stamps affixed at top right Cancelled with a special Cancellation Handstamp/Postmark which features the wings of a butterfly. The Cancellation is of Bern Post Office and is dated - "06.05.2021".
At left is seen a stylised representation of the two butterflies perched on flowers in a garden.
