1781) "NETBUL-2021" (01-31.03.2021), Israel: A Virtual National Philatelic Exhibition, held by Israel Philatelic Federation: A Souvenir Leaf:
About "NETBUL-2021" Virtual National Stamp Exhibition, Israel Philatelic Federation:
A stamp exhibition is an event in which philatelists can exhibit their collection (or rather a part of it) to the public and to a panel of judges. The exhibits follow certain rules which are designed to accommodate the general public and create a fair basis for the evaluation of the jury.
Normally, a stamp exhibition is held in a spacious hall, but in view of the COVID 19 pandemic the Israeli Philatelic Federation had decided to hold a virtual exhibition, for the first time in Israeli history.
NetBul 2021 was an Israeli Philatelic National Exhibition, and as such all exhibits included in it belong to Israeli Collectors.
The exhibits were merely a part of the collection: Each exhibitor owns many albums of material at home, and could display in their exhibit only the most interesting items in his/her/their possession.
Stamp Exhibition:
Each stamp exhibition consists of several exhibition classes, which are essentially different fields of collecting:
- A “traditional” collection is devoted to stamps of a specific country.
- A “thematic” collection is devoted to a specific theme, such as “dogs” or “flowers”, and so on and so forth.
NetBul 2021 included, for the first time in Israel, a “picture postcards” class, which contained some exciting collections.
About Judging:
The members of the jury were experienced collectors, who have exhibited successfully in the past and have gone through training in evaluating exhibits. They followed rules which are set by the International Philatelic Federation.
Based on these rules the judges granted a score for each exhibit and correspondingly granted the winning entry, a medal.
They also provided the exhibitor with words of advice on how to improve the exhibit in the future.
The exhibits which got high scores in NetBul-2021 also qualified to participate in international exhibitions worldwide.
THE EXHIBITION:
Viewers could look at the different exhibits on display. To enhance their experience the organized committee introduced two novelties:
- Each exhibitor was given the opportunity to upload a short video with explanations about his collection and exhibit.
- The organizing committee initiated several videos which form a kind of a guided tour of the exhibit, including some highlights from various collections.
The Vote:
In NetBul 2021, one could vote online for the exhibits they liked the most. There was also an Award for the visitor's choice, selected through online voting.
The Souvenir Leaf:
A Souvenir Leaf with the Beethoven Stamps was issued for the NetBul 2021.
