The Barn Owl:
The Barn Owl is a nocturnal bird of prey. It has a round head with black eyes close together, a white lower body and heart-shaped face. It is able to detect sounds with its sharp hearing ability.
It measures about 35.0 cm in length, and weighs up to 320 grams. It has a wingspan of 90.0 cm and feeds on rodents. A voracious feeder, it is capable of hunting about 2,000 rodents in each nesting period and of completing three nesting periods in one season. As such, it is considered to be a "friend of the farmer" and an important biological pest controller.
Interestingly, it is mentioned three times in the Bible.
The Obverse of the Coin depicts a Barn Owl perched on a branch in a field. Inscriptions in English and Hebrew are: "Birds of Israel" (on the upper periphery) and Barn Owl" "on the lower periphery), "The Holy Land Mint logo" and beneath it the metal fineness ".999 SILVER", weight "0.5 Oz" and the mint year "2018".
Each of the 8 coins in the series exhibits a common Reverse, with "The Land of Israel" at the centre of the world as seen from a satellite map.

Deletehow to get barn owl coin
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog. You could try Israel Coins and Medals Corp. if they have any back issues, or the coin could be available on eBay as well.. I tried to copy the link to ICMC website, but today because of the Cyclone approaching Mumbai & Pune, connectivity is very bad, but you could get it on Google search.
