About Monaco's Eco-Friendly Hot Air Balloon:

The Monaco Next Generation Project is taking off.

For years, the Aeronauts of Monaco have been working towards an approach that respects the planet in the practice of their aeronautical activity. 

The National Club is now equipped with a latest generation ecological hot air balloon. 

This new ecological balloon will convey a simple message applicable in many areas of daily life - saving energy through insulation and thus limiting heat loss

The implementation of this aerostat will serve as a laboratory and will test numerous techniques, including the use of biofuels, to save energy

It is a unique ecological challenge for the Principality and the Aeronauts of Monaco.

The Stamp:

The two stamps of 1.96 Euro each depict the eco-friendly Hot Air Balloon

A Sheetlet of eight stamps (four each of the two Variants)


A First Day Cover (FDC) shows an image of the Principality of Monaco at left.

At top right are affixed the two postage stamps issued in the set. The special Cancellation stamp shows the logo of the Monaco Aeronauts Club and a Hot Air Balloon. The Cancellation is of Monaco Post Office and the date of cancellation is - "02.01.2024".
