About "Geometry in Nature - The Circle":
Geometric patterns are a blueprint in nature. Specific patterns are found. We’ve already met spiral, pentagon and star. In 2021, it’s the turn of the circle, the fourth in the series.
This is a First Day Sheet of the issue in a Series of Postage stamps titled - “Geometry Shapes found in Nature -Circles".
The Stamp Series which commenced on 11.06.2018, will issue five sets of stamps over a period of five years since its commencement. The Stamp Series began with the theme of "Spirals in Nature", with a pane of five stamps (2018) and continued with the theme "Star Shapes in Nature" (17.06.2019) and then again "Pentagons in Nature).A link to my post on Pentagons in Nature can be accessed at the following link:
Geometric patterns are a blueprint in nature. Here we discover 'the Circles in Nature"'.
As we have seen earlier, Nature is home to perfectly formed shapes and vibrant colors. When seen up close, snowflakes have incredibly perfect geometric shapes. Circles are found in tree stumps and oceans, while straight lines are seen on beaches and fields.
To the human eye, circles and spheres are abundant in nature and in our universe. They can occur naturally — in planets, stars, celestial bodies, tree rings, rain drops — or they can be man-made — such as traffic roundabouts, buttons, volleyballs, pizza.
Because of its symmetry the circle is considered as the perfect shape. It is the symbol for the total symmetry of the divine.
The Greek scholar Proclus (500 AC) wrote: "the Circle is the first, the simplest and most perfect form".
The Series will end with "Hexagons in Nature" in 2022.
