1270) "Franking Labels" from Greenland: Franking Labels issued by POST Greenland Filatelia since 2009 onwards: A brief analysis:


Franking labels have been issued by Post Greenland Filatelia since 2009. These are available with many different values and imprints and are printed on two types of machines:


1) aCon's "Frankie": This machine has been used since 2009 onwards, which is Post Greenland  Filatelia's standard franking and it is used for all franking labels machine. 226 different "Frankie" machines are in use in Greenland, of which, three are used by POST Greenland Filatalia. The rest are used by different companies in Greenland.

This is a "Local strip" of the franking labels from 2019, printed on a "Frankie" machine. In addition to the value one can see several digits and letters. The first five digits, in this case "e-4cRs" belongs to one of the three machines that are used by POST Greenland Filatelia.

This is a set of Franking Labels from aCon's "Frankie" machine.

It is possible to print any given value on the "Frankie" machine. One can choose any value to be printed on the franking labels, as lond as the value is equal to or higher than the lowest postage rate for air-mail in Greenland.

Any rate from DKK 15.00 upto DKK 999.75 is possible on this machine.

2) Intelligentar's "Kiosk-GLo1" is the newer machine which is used for franking labels issued in 2018, 2019, 2020 and onwards.

This machine offers a number of additional features and options. Among other advantages, it is possible to print different texts on the franking labels. This machine is, accordingly, used at stamp shows, exhibitions and on special occasions.

The "Kiosk-GL01" machine can also print a receipt along with any strip or set. This receipt is enclosed with all ordered stamps.

Only one "Kiosk-GL-01" machine exists and is only used by POST Greenland Filatelia:

Franking labels from 2018 are also available from the Kiosk-GL01" machine, with "Greenland Post" imprint = receipt, and in three different value combinations.

This is a 2018 Local Strip - 3 x 14 DKK. A similar strip is also available for Collectors for a differential pricing.

The Franking Labels from 2019 are available from "Kiosk-GL01" with a Greenland Post 2019 imprint and a receipt. Furthermore, they are available with a Copenhagen 2019 imprint and receipt as well. These Franking labels are available in three different value combinations:

First Day Covers (FDCs) with Franking Labels affixed to them. The Special Cancellation Handstamp is dated "21.10.2019" and bears the POST GREENLAND Filatelia logo. The Cancellation Stamp is of 3913 Tasilaq Post Office.
