1672) "Rainforests", Netherlands: The second Coin in the "Our Earth Ecosystems Coin Series" minted by Numiscollect, a Dutch Mint highlighting the lush green Rainforest with its unique bio-diversity: Year of Coin issue: 2021:

Numiscollect a  Dutch Mint has an on-going Coin Series titled - "Our Earth Ecosystems". The first issue in this Coin Series presented a colourful view of the "Polar environments". This is the second Coin in the Series and highlights a lush rainforest. The first coin bore the colour blue on its edge, while the second one presents a green colour on the edge.

A rainforest is a forested ecosystem with a lot of rain all year round. The minimum is 1700 to 2500 millimeters of rain with an absolute minimum per month. If the rain is distributed unevenly throughout the year, there may be a monsoon forest.

Rainforests are also characterized by the high biodiversity and many animals that live here.

The Amazon rainforest is the most famous and most extensive in the world. It is about the same size as Australia and spread over Brazil, Venezuela, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname, Ecuador, Peru and French Guiana.

The Coin:

The Reverse of the $10 (Ten Dollars) Silver Coin depicts the rainforest with the many animals that live there - Gorillas from the African rainforest and the Tucan and Jaguar from the Amazon and others.

The Amazon rainforest is centered on the globe and the inscriptions: “OUR WONDERFUL AND UNIQUE WORLD” (the name/theme of the Coin Series) and “THE RAINFOREST ECO SYSTEM” (the theme of this Coin).

This coin is unique because of its green-colored edge.

The Obverse of the $10 (Ten Dollars) Silver Coin depicts the standard Emblem/Coat of Arms of the Republic of Palau with the inscriptions: “REPUBLIC OF PALAU” (the issuing country) and “10$” (the denomination/face value of this Coin).
