THE CORONATION OF NAPOLEON I - LOUVRE:

In 2021, Monnaie de Paris (The Paris Mint) is commemorating the Bicentenary of the passing away of Napoleon I (1821-2021). This year will therefore be truly "Napoleon Year" celebrated in France and internationally. 

The Mint is celebrating the milestone not only from several angles of the heritage of this period of French History, but also through its different types of products. 

The Commemorative Coins:

On the Reverse side is depicted the "Coronation of Emperor Napoleon I and Empress Josephine" on 02.12.1804, a painting by the artist Jacques-Louis David exhibited in the Louvre.

On the Obverse side, is depicted a representation of the Louvre Pyramid and the building. Inside the pyramid, a key work of the museum is seen: the Victory of Samothrace.

The name of the museum is written at the bottom of the room.

The inscription "RF" (standing for "Republique Francaise"), as well as, the punch of Joaquin Jimenez are inside the pyramid.
