1695 "ANIMAL FOOTPRINTS", France: La Poste France (French Post) has brought out a set of 12 Postage Stamps in a Booklet/Notebook with illustrations of Animal Footprints: Date of Stamp Set issue: 15.02.2021:

The 12 self-adhesive postage stamps in this booklet are illustrated with photographs of animal prints. In wet or dry soils, in snow, on sand, one may find by luck if one takes a walk and pays attention to it, the recent passage of a hedgehog with 5-toed legs with nails, a duck with webbed legs etc.

Biologists, researchers, helped by naturalist photographers, study the movements and morphologies of animals.

The foot of an elephant, for example,  has 5 toes facing forward and rests, with the heel, on a fatty pad, which gives the impression that the foot is flat.

Similarly, 2 legs of chacma baboon shows that the hind leg and the front leg are not identical an eerie resemblance for our hands!

The chamois and the deer are ungulate animals. The 2 claws of the chamois are mobile, which allows it to adapt to the diversity of the terrain climbing.

The hedgehog is an invasive species currently in New Zealand and protected in Europe!

The gentoo penguin and the jaguar are almost endangered species.

The elephant and the lion are endangered species ... except seen in reserves.

This notebook is dedicated to biodiversity, in a concrete and mysterious form at the same time.

The Stamps in the Booklet:

The 12 Stamps issued by La Poste, France in a booklet/notebook feature paw/footprints of various animals - an interesting study.
