Serbia has commenced a series of three coins commemorating the life and works/accomplishments of Nicola Tesla (1856-1943).
Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist and futurist, best known for his contributions to the design of the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system. He emigrated to the USA in 1884, where he initially worked with Thomas A. Edison. He set up several laboratories and companies for developing a range of electrical devices and patented the AC induction motor along with several other novel innovations/inventions.

He is credited exclusively or in part with technologies that changed the world, including the electric lighting grid, electric motors, remote control, hydro-electric power, turbine engines, magnetic propulsion, electro-magnetic energy generation, x-rays, lasers, particle beams, solar power adaptation, weather manipulation, robotics, wireless transmission, radio, television, cell phones and the internet.
In 1960, the General Conference on Weights and Measures for the International System of Units gave the name "Tesla" to the SI unit measure for magnetic field strength.

In 1975, Tesla was inducted into the National Inventor's Hall of fame at Alexandria, Virginia.

In 2003, Tesla's concepts were acknowledged when a new electric automobile company was named in his honour.
Tesla has been the subject of many documentaries in recent years.
In 2018, the History Channel ran a five-part investigative documentary titled "The Tesla Files", which opened new considerations and suggested new revelations as to his life, importance and associations in the USA.

Applications of Tesla's accomplishments, those both long noted and those previously suppressed are still being rediscovered for evolving technologies.
The three-coin Silver Bullion collection will feature a permanent portrait of Tesla on the Obverse and celebrate some of his accomplishments on the Reverse.
The Commemorative Silver Bullion Coin issues:
The first coin issue, on the Obverse carries an effigy of Tesla facing right, which will feature on all the three coins included in the Silver Bullion Coin Series.
On the Reverse, this coin features Tesla's prototype of his alternating current electric motor.
This coin will have a metal composition of .999 Fine Silver (Ag) and carry a denomination of 100 Dinara. It will have a maximum mintage of 50,000 circulation strikes and 3,327 Proof pieces.
A limited quantity of Tesla coins will also be available certified and grade by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation, with a special Tesla portrait label.

The second coin (scheduled for release in 11/18) will commemorate his invention of remote control, while the theme of the third coin has still not been disclosed.

On the Front of the 100 Dinara Banknotes there is a portrait of Nikola Tesla, mathematical formulae for unit flux density, an image of an electrical discharge and an image of Tesla's plant.
On the Back of the 100 Dinara Banknote, when viewed vertically, there is an image of Nicola Tesla, based on his photograph kept in his Museum in Belgrade, a sketch of Tesla's electro-magnetic induction engine and Tesla's dove.
