The first Mail Ships set sail to Jersey in 1794 and since then the Island has been services by dozens of mail ships and passenger boats.
A variety of vessels that span Jersey's Mail Ship history are depicted on this six stamp set as part of the 2020 Europa Stamp issue on the theme -"ancient Postal Routes".
Featured on the six stamps are the - Rover, the Atalanta (I), the Cygnus, the Lydia, the Isle of Jersey and the Caesarea III.

Souvenir Miniature Sheet:
A Souvenir Miniature Sheet (MS) is titled -"EUROPA ANCIENT POSTAL ROUTES -MAIL SHIPS" and contains the two EUROPA Stamps printed by Jersey Post - "Cygnus and Isle of Jersey".
Indicated on the Miniature Sheet is the route the Postal ships used to sail on - "Jersey - Guernsey - Alderney - Weymouth - Southampton".
The Stamp Sheets:
The Stamp Sheets give the collectors access to all the printer's marks and any additional information on the selvedges.
The selvedges include the traffic lights which is a term used by collectors to denote the "check dots" (or colour dabs) printed in the sheet margins of stamps printed by modern offset litho or photogravure methods. They assist in checking that all the colours have been printed correctly.
Most of the selvedge sheets also contain a plate number - a numeral, occasionally with a letter suffix, usually inscribed in the sheet margins to denote the plate from which the stamps were printed - for example 1A.
