The Royal Mint, UK has brought out a new Collector Coin series titled - "Music Legends" which pays a tribute to some of the world's best and most admired music bands, whose origins are from the United Kingdom.

The Reverses of the three coin variants issued in this release - Cupro-nickel (5 Pounds), Silver (1 & 2 Pounds) and Gold (25 & 100 Pounds)

Specimens of the Cupro-nickel commemorative coins issued by the Royal Mint, UK, packed in covers featuring music albums released by the Rock Band - "QUEEN"

The first coins feature the iconic Band - "Queen", which is the first time that a British Band has been celebrated on British coins.

The Reverse of the Coin design commemorates all four members of Queen, in recognition of their contributions to the Band's success. The Coin design portrays each member's instrument - with the Bechstein grand piano - which Freddie Mercury played for "Bohemian Rhapsody" - being featured at the top of the coin.

The group's logo is placed in the centre of the design and is underscored by the singer's signature mic stick.

Brian May's "Red Special" guitar - which he still plays using an old sixpence to give his unique sound - also features alongside John Deacon 's Fender Precision Bass.

Finally, Roger Taylor's Ludwig bass drum is decorated with the Queen Crest - as it appeared in the Band's early days.

The Obverse of the Coin Design features an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Jody Clark, whose initials "JC" appear below the Queen's neck.
