About Tristan da Cunha:
It is a remote group of volcanic islands in the South Atlantic Ocean and the main island of that group. The main island has a diameter of about 11.0 kilometres (or 38.0 sq. miles) and have about 250 permanent residents who are all British Overseas Territories citizens (BOTCs). The uninhabited Nightingale Islands and the Wildlife Reserves of Inaccessible Island and Gough Island are the smaller ones in the Group.
Tristan da Cunha is part of the British Overseas Territory of Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha.
About Jasper-ware:
Jasperware is a type of fine-grained, unglazed stone-ware introduced by the English potter Josiah Wedgwood in 1775, as a result of a long series of experiments aimed at discovering the techniques of porcelain manufacture.
Its name is derived from the natural stone - jasper - in its hardness. Jasper is white in its natural state and is stained with metallic oxide colouring agents.
The most common shade is pale blue, but dark blue, lilac, sage green, black and yellow are also used.
The earliest jasper was stained throughout and was known as "solid", whereas the later varieties were coloured only on the surface and were known as "dip".
Decorations, in the Neo-classical style and usually white, were made in separate molds and applied to the body of the piece. Objects made of jasper were varied and included vases, plaques, tableware, cameos, furniture mounts and portrait medallions.
The iconic brand - Wedgwood - was founded in 1759 by renowned industrialist and philanthropist Josiah Wedgwood and "Jasperware" was then developed by him in the 1770s. Even today, Jasperware is one of the most sought after and collected ceramics in the world.
The finest examples of the medallions were modelled by John Flaxman and by Wedgwood's principal modeller - William Hackwood.
Another outstanding example is Wedgwood's 1790 reproductions in jasper of the Portland Vase (excavated from a tomb outside Rome in the early 19th Century).
The Coin:
This Coin has been hand made at the Wedgwood factory, exclusively for "The Commonwealth Mint".
The Reverse of the 5 Pounds Jasper-Ware Coin shows Wyon's version of Casova's Three Graces.
The inscription on the lower periphery is - "FIVE POUNDS".

Antonio Canova's statue "The Three Graces" is a Neoclassical sculpture in marble of the mythological three charities, the daughters of Zeus , from left to right identified as - Euphrosyne (representing "mirth"), Aglaea (representing "elegance") and Thalia (representing "youth/beauty").
The three Graces presided over banquets and gatherings to delight the guests of the gods. They were favourite subjects for historical artists like Sandro Botticelli and Bertel Thorvaldsen.

The Obverse of the 5 Pounds Jasper-Ware Coin shows an effigy of Queen Elizabeth facing right.
The peripheral inscriptions are "H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH II. TRISTAN DA CUNHA. 2018".
