Serbia has issued the second coin in the three silver bullion Coin Series (which may be increased to more Silver Bullion Coin issues depending on the Tesla Silver Bullion Coin's popularity, going forward) commemorating the life and accomplishments/works of Nikola Tesla (1856-1943).
Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist and futurist, best known for his contributions to the design of the modern Alternating Current (AC) electricity supply system.
He emigrated to the USA in 1884, where he initially worked with Thomas A. Edison. He set up several laboratories and companies for developing a range of electrical devices and patented the AC induction motor along with several other novel innovations/inventions.
Tesla is viewed by many scientists and historians as one of the most notable inventors and visionaries of all time.
He is credited exclusively or in part with technologies that changed the world, including the electric lighting grid, electric motors, remote control, hydro-electric power, turbine engines, magnetic propulsion, electro-magnetic energy generation, x-rays, lasers, particle beams, solar power adaptation, weather manipulation, robotics, wireless transmission, radio, television, cell phones and the internet.
In 1960, the General Conference on Weights and Measures for the International System of Units gave the name "Tesla" to the SI unit measure for magnetic field strength.
In 1975, the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers established their annual award of the Tesla Medal for contributions to the utilisation of electrical power.
In 2003, Tesla's concepts were acknowledged when a new electric automobile company was named in his honour.
Tesla has been the subject of many documentaries in recent years.
In 2018, the History Channel ran a five-part investigative documentary titled "The Tesla Files", which opened new considerations and suggested new revelations as to his life, importance and associations in the USA.
Applications of Tesla's accomplishments, those both long noted and those previously suppressed are still being rediscovered for evolving technologies.
The Silver Bullion Coin Series will feature a permanent portrait of Tesla on the Obverse and celebrate some of his accomplishments on the Reverse.

The Obverse of the 100 Dinara Silver Bullion Coin carries an effigy of Tesla facing right, which will feature on all the coins issued in this Silver Bullion Coin Series. This is Tesla's most recognisable pose - Deep in thought, he rests his head on his hand.
The inscriptions are - "NIKOLA TESLA" (in both English and Serbian Cyrillic), "ELECTRICAL VISIONARY" and "POWERING THE FUTURE".

Tesla used his boat to demonstrate his remote control. Its patent number and patent date are inscribed to the centre left on this face.
The inscriptions are - "WIRELESS TRANSMISSION" and "2019" below the image. The peripheral inscriptions are - "REPUBLIKA SRBIJA" (meaning "Republic of Serbia") in both Latin letters and Cyrillic.
In the top half are the inscriptions - "120TH ANNIVERSARY" and the theme of this coin "REMOTE CONTROL".
On the bottom periphery are mentioned - 1 OZ .999 SILVER", "DINARA 100".
On the centre top is the Coat of Arms of Serbia.
The specifications of this coin are:
Denomination: 100 Dinara (Serbian); Weight: 1 OZ or 31.1 grams; Diameter/Size: 40.0 mm; Metal Composition: .999 Fineness Silver (Ag); Coin Quality: Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) Mint: Serbian Mint; Mintage: Proof - 3327 pieces and Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) 75,000 pieces; Mint Year: 2019.
Mintage of the BU coins are set to be increased with each issue as awareness of the collection builds up, while the Proof coins mintage will remain fixed.
A limited quantity of "Teslas" will be available - certified and graded by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) with a special Tesla portrait label.
Incidentally, the Serbian 100 Dinara Banknote in circulation commemorates Tesla's contribution to the world of inventions:
On the Front of the 100 Dinara Banknotes there is a portrait of Nikola Tesla, mathematical formulae for unit flus density, an image of an electrical discharge and an image of Tesla's plant.
On the Back of the 100 Dinara Banknote, when viewed vertically, there is an image of Nikola Tesla, based on his photograph kept in his Museum in Belgrade, a sketch of Tesla's electro-magnetic induction engine and Tesla's dove.
The Department of Posts, India (or India Post) has also honoured Nikola Tesla in a joint-issue with Serbian Post released on 15.09.2018:
The First Day Cover (FDC) released by India Post on 15.08.2018, carrying the images of Nikola Tesla on the 500 Paise (or Rs.5/- stamp) and Swami Vivekananda on the 2500 Paise (or Rs.25/-) stamp , respectively.
Swami Vivekananda and Tesla met in New York during Vivekananda's series of lectures on Vedic philosophy. Later, in several letters, Swami Vivekananda mentioned that he recognised Vedic cosmology in Tesla's scientific work - the stamp with the image of Nikola Tesla symbolically represents the connection of his inventions and the Divine source of all scientific ideas.
