The Witcher:

“The Witcher” is a fantasy drama television series created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich for Netflix. It is based on the book series by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.

Set on a fictional, medieval-inspired landmass known as “the Continent”, The Witcher explores the legend of Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer of Vengerberg and Princess Ciri. It stars Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, and Freya Allan.

The first season, consisting of eight episodes, was released on Netflix on December 20, 2019.

It was based on “The Last Wish” and “Sword of Destiny”, which are collections of short stories that precede the main The Witcher saga.

The second season, also consisting of eight episodes and based on the novel Blood of Elves, was released on December 17, 2021.

In September 2021, Netflix renewed the series for a third season, which also consists of eight episodes, released in two volumes on June 29 and July 27, 2023. This will be followed by a fourth season, with Liam Hemsworth taking over the role of Geralt of Rivia.

In April 2024, the series was renewed for its fifth and final season.

An animated origin story film, Nightmare of the Wolf, was released on August 23, 2021. A prequel miniseries, “Blood Origin”, was released on December 25, 2022. A second film, “Sirens of the Deep”, is expected to be released in February 2025.

The Storyline:

The story begins with Geralt of Rivia, Crown Princess Cirilla of Cintra, and the quarter-elf sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg at different points in time, exploring formative events that shape their characters throughout the first season, before eventually merging into a single timeline.

Geralt and Ciri are linked by destiny since before she was born when he unknowingly demanded her as a reward for his services by invoking "the Law of Surprise". After the two finally meet, Geralt becomes the princess's protector and must help her and fight against her various pursuers to prevent her Elder Blood and powerful magic from being used for malevolent purposes and keep Ciri and their world safe.

This extraordinary coin is created in cooperation with Andrzej Sapkowski, a famous Polish writer who wrote books in the series ‘The Witcher’. On the basis of his works, CD Project Red created a series of games in addition to a hit Netflix TV series. In the spirit of this massively popular franchise, Mint of Gdansk will release collectible coins with incredible designs from The Witcher.

- Return of the Witcher! Experience the next amazing adventures of the Witcher minted in the purest silver! This year we present the third issue of the coin, Blood of Elves.

- The Blood of Elves coin is minted in 62.2 grams of fine silver.

In the foreground of the Reverse of the $5 (Five Dollars) Silver Coin one can see White Wolf saving Ciri from an elfin blow.

In the background is placed Yarpen fighting with Blackbeard.

The reverse, 45 mm in diameter, depicts an important scene from Andrzej Sapkowski's book of the same title. It is an attack of Scoia'tael commando group on a dwarven caravan, which White Wolf and Ciri were travelling.

The coin design is full of symbols - the elf is wearing a cap with a squirrel tail. This animal is the symbol of the Scoia'tael, as this name from the Elder Speech means just "squirrels".

Every detail of the reverse is perfectly visible thanks to the high relief, and the whole thing looks extremely vivid, just like the world presented in Sapkowski's book. Additions also attract the attention.

On the Reverse there is an addition in the form of selective pink gold, which imitates blood. Another interesting element of the decoration is the wheel, which was handmade from extremely hard wood. The inserts may differ from the one shown in the picture.

The Obverse of the $5 (Five Dollars) Silver Coin is decorated with ornaments and symbols related to Elirena.

A squirrel in the Gothic medallion and bushes full of roses refer to her. In the middle of the coin there is also a plate with a bas-relief of Elirene.

On the left side of the obverse there is information about the denomination, silver sample and issuer.
