1314) Ancient Greek Theatres, Greece: Hellenic Post has brought out a set of five postage stamps featuring the Ancient Theatres of Dodona, Nicopolis, Kassope, Amvrakia and Gitana (all in Epirus): Stamp issue date: 08.04.2020:
Greece's Ancient Theatres are magnificent silent witnesses of the spirit of eras gone by and with the simplicity of their architecture they take one on a unique tour of ancient Greek culture.
Hellenic Post has issued a set of five stamps that take us on a fascinating journey to Epirus, revealing the region's rich cultural heritage.
The postage stamps depict the:
- Ancient Theatre of Dodona, which was an integral part of the Panhellenic Sanctuary of Dodona,
- Ancient Theatre of Nicopolis, one of the most impressive monuments in Greece associated with the new Actian Games dedicated to Apollo,
- Ancient Theatre of Kassope, with its panoramic view of the Ambracian Gulf, the Ionian Sea and the Acarnanian Mountains,
- Ancient Theatre of Amvrakia, the smallest of the theatres that have been discovered to date,
- Ancient Theatre of Gitana, built in the capital of Ancient Thesprotia, many of whose seats bear inscriptions of names.

0.10 Euro - Theatre of Ancient Gitana - Epirus
0.50 Euro - Ancient Theatre of Kassope - Epirus
1.00 Euro - Ancient Theatre of Dodona - Epirus
2.00 Euro - Roman Theatre of Nicopolis - Epirus
2.50 Euro - Ancient Theatre of Ambrakia (small) - Epirus
The two First Day Covers (FDCs) showing an image of a Theatre at left. At top right are affixed three and two stamps respectively, issued in the set.
The special Cancellation Handstamp/Postmark is dated - "08.04.2020".
