869) 70th Anniversary of the Renminbi: People's Republic of China celebrates with a 50 Yuan Commemorative Banknote being issued on 28.12.2018:
The People's Republic of China is celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Renminbi (which translates as "People's money"), with the issue of a 50 Yuan Banknote.

The first batch of this commemorative Banknote will be released nationally on 28. 12.2018 followed by additional Banknotes to be released on 11.01.2019 in selected provinces like - Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Hebei and Guangdong, among others.
On the Front of the 50 Yuan Commemorative Banknote are depicted tree rings and patterns taken from each series of Renminbi issued from the first to fifth Series. The National Emblem of the People's Republic of China and the Chinese title of "The People's Bank of China" are shown at top left, with characters translating to "The 70th Anniversary of Renminbi Issuance" and 1948-2018 below.

The Back of the 50 Yuan Commemorative Banknote features the headquarters building of the People's Bank of China (PBC) as the main pattern, with peony flowers, the site of the old PBC building and the announcement of the first series of Renminbi Banknotes at the top right, with a silhouette of city buildings below.
At top left, in addition the the denomination in numerals "50", "The People's Bank of China" is in Pinyin alphabet, and the words translate to "The People's Bank of China", as well as, the denomination, appear in the Mongolian, Tibetan, Uyghur and Zhuang languages. The governor's stamp and the year of issue"2018" are at the bottom.
The Security Features include:
A thread of ancient cash coins and the denomination shifting from gold to green when tilted and a water-mark with an image of the Great Wall of China.
Intaglio printing is used for the National Emblem of the PRC, the title of the Bank, the main image, the numerals of the face value and a Braille device.
Other characteristics of this Banknote:
The Size of the Banknote is 150 mm x 70 mm (which is the same as the regular issues); The colour of this Banknote is predominantly yellow and red.
A total of 120 million Banknotes will be printed and released.
