The Coin Of The Year (COTY) Awards programme, now in its 37th year is an internationally conducted competition presented by "World Coin News", which recognises outstanding coin designs and innovation world-wide.

The 2020 programme was sponsored by "The Journal of East Asian Numismatics" and the "World Money Fair". The 2020 competition featured coins dated 2018 in 10 different categories of competition, as selected by an international panel of Judges.

The Coin of the Year-2020 Award:

The 5 Euro "Honey" Coin styled as a honey-comb in gold-plated silver, minted by the Bank of Latvia and designed by artist Arturs Analts was voted as the Coin of the Year-2020 from among a pool of 10 category-winning coins. This Coin had earlier topped  the Most Artistic Coin category.
