About Nikola Tesla Crypto Stamp:
The Crypto Stamp (Kriptomarka Nikola Tesla) issued by Hrvatska Posta features an effigy of Nikola Tesla and one of his inventions.Croatian Post has issued the fourth Croatian Crypto Stamp in cooperation with the companies BitX and Marrow Labs.
Croatian Crypto Stamps are envisioned as the perfect combination of the analogue and the digital.
To faithfully transpose collecting into the digital world, the Crypto Stamps have been divided into different digital categories, emphasizing distinctiveness and exclusivity.
Motifs of Tesla's inventions appear in five different categories: a) Tesla's egg experiment in a rotating magnetic field in 2,000 copies, b) Tesla's radio-controlled toy boat in 4,000, c) Tesla's wireless signal transmission system in 6,000, d) Tesla's coil in 8,000, and e) Tesla's turbine in 10,000 copies, making a total circulation of 30,000 copies.
NIKOLA TESLA (1856 – 1943):
Nikola Tesla is regarded as one of the greatest scientists and inventors in human history.
His experiments and patents in the late 19th and early 20th centuries laid the groundwork for global electrification, and his work in the field of high-frequency currents and wireless transmission of electromagnetic waves enabled the development of radio technology and telecommunications. His studies helped in the discovery of the radar, and he made significant contributions to the advancement of lighting technology.
He was born on 10.07.1856 in Smiljan near Gospić.
After his studies in Graz, in 1881 he proceeded to work in the Telegraph Office in Budapest, where he discovered the rotating magnetic field and the operating principle for an electric motor driven by alternating current in 1882.
From 1884 he lived in the USA where he briefly worked for T. A. Edison, and in 1887 he founded the Tesla Electric Company and a laboratory in New York where he worked on improving the usage of alternating current.
In 1887 and 1888, he applied for patents for the AC motor and distribution system.
He applied for a number of patents in the field of high-frequency currents in 1891, and to honour him, one of the devices that produce such currents was named the "Tesla transformer".
In 1892 he gave a lecture on alternating current and electrification in Zagreb.
Tesla also invented the first teleautomatons - wireless remotely controlled machines.
He conducted tests with very high voltages and high-frequency currents in Colorado Springs in 1899, while exploring his novel concept of the "World Wireless System", which he unfortunately failed to realise.
Nikola Tesla filed a total of 112 patents with the U.S. Patent Office.
In 1917, he was awarded the Edison Medal, the highest distinction given by the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, and in his honour the unit for magnetic induction in the SI system has been called Tesla since 1960.
He passed away on 07.01.1943 in New York (USA).
