Eesti Pank release silver collector coins dedicated to Estonian athletes at the XXV Olympic Winter Games.

The Header/Banner showcases the Obverse and Reverse of the 15 Euro Silver Proof Coin against a background representation of ice-covered peaks on which the Games will be held. Estonia's National Olympic logo features on the Obverse.

The Estonian Central Bank has a long tradition of issuing collector coins for the Olympics, the first having been released in 1992.

The latest 2026 Olympic coin is now the 13th to honour the country’s athletes and national team.

The Olympic Winter Games return to Europe, the birthplace of Alpine skiing, encompassing a large portion of Italy’s breath-taking mountains and covering an area of 22,000 square kilometres.

From the 6th to the 22nd February 2026, more than 2900 athletes from over 90 countries are competing in 116 events on ice and snow, in eight sports and 16 disciplines.

Hosted in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, these are the first Olympic Games to officially be co-hosted by two cities simultaneously.

Estonia’s participation in the Olympic Games spans back as far as their foundation as an independent country in 1920.

The Estonian Olympic Committee sent athletes to the VII Olympiad in Antwerp, Belgium and again from 1928 to 1940 before Soviet annexation, thus making their modern attendance significant.

Since regaining independence in 1991, Estonian athletes have participated in every edition of both the Summer and Winter Olympics, competing in the Barcelona Summer Games in 1992 and the Winter Games in Lillehammer, Norway.

Estonian athletes traditionally excel in cross-country skiing and biathlon, often sending their strongest athletes in these disciplines.

The Coins:

The Silver Proof Coins have been minted by the Mint of Lithuania at their facilities in Vilnius and on behalf of the Bank of Estonia and designed by Merilin Pedastsaar and Priit Pedastsaar.

The Reverse of the 15 Euro Silver Proof Coin showcases a design which resembles a boot-print in the snow, but is also a QR code that links a smartphone to the website of the Estonian Olympic Committee.

To the right of the QR code print is the Estonian Olympic Committee’s official logo comprising of a stylised flame with the five Olympic rings seen on the Game’s official flag.

Below the insignia is the denomination "15€".

The Obverse of the 15 Euro Silver Proof Coin includes elements representing the Paralympic athletes participating with Braille spelling out "EESTI VABARIIK" ("Estonian Republic") placed above the country’s national crest which is centred. Below the crest is the text "EESTI VABARIIK" along with the year of issue, 2026.
