The 30th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence:

a) 250 Hryvnia Gold Coin:

Description:

This coin ( and the other Variants) celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the adoption of a historic document – the "Act of Declaring Ukraine’s Independence" – by the Ukrainian Parliament. 

This momentous event occurred on 24 August 1991. 

At various times, the Ukrainian people fought for their right to have their own national state, language, and culture. 

Today, Ukraine is depicted as an independent state on world maps. Ukraine’s independence is based on the people’s historical memory, traditions and spiritual and cultural heritage.

The Coins:

a) 250 Gold Coin Variant:

The Obverse & Reverse of the 250 Hryvnia Gold Coin placed together

On the Reverse of the 250 Hryvnia Gold Coin is seen, surrounded by stylized sunrays the main sculpture of Ukraine’s Independence Monument designed by Anatolii Kushch – "Victorious Oranta" ("Orans") holding a red guelder rose branch; beneath is the following semicircular legend: "30 РОКІВ НЕЗАЛЕЖНОСТІ УКРАЇНИ" ("30th Anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence").

On the Obverse of the 250 Hryvnia Gold Coin, in the center is a mosaic image of the trident (a state symbol used by Kyiv Rus Prince Volodymyr the Great) decorated with a floral ornament and symbolizing the formation of the state, which contributes to the consolidation and development of the Ukrainian nation, its conventional wisdom, traditions and culture; above the trident is the coin’s issue year 2021; beneath, to the left, is Ukraine`s small coat of arms; the legend "УКРАЇНА" ("Ukraine") is beneath, to the right; the coin’s face value "250" and the graphic symbol of the hryvnia are below on a smooth background.

On the Reverse of the 50 Hryvnia Silver Coin above is depicted  Ukraine’s small Coat Of Arms.

There is also the following stylized composition: a mighty oak tree surrounded by sunrays (decorative element – local gilding); the tree top resembles the outlines of Ukraine’s borders; the roots of the tree symbolize certain recent stages in the formation of the Ukrainian state – the Ukrainian People’s Republic, the Western Ukrainian People`s Republic, the Ukrainian State, the Directorate of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, and so on; the legend "УКРАЇНА" ("Ukraine") is at the top of the tree; against a smooth background are the following legends: "50" and the graphic symbol of the "hryvnia" (to the left), and "2021" (to the right).

On the Obverse of the 10 Hryvnia Coin is the legend УКРАЇНА (Ukraine), to the left is the coin’s issue year 2021 and Ukraine`s small Coat Of Arms.

A composition that plays the role of an information medium joining the past and the present - above is a QR-code that symbolizes the digital transformation of the society and economy, below is a stylized image of embroidery elements that are a treasure chest of symbols embodying the customs, rituals, and believes of the Ukrainian people. 

The face value "10" and the graphic symbol of hryvnia (to the right from the legend "УКРАЇНА" (Ukraine)).

On the Reverse of the 10 Hryvnia Silver Coin is the logo of the Independence Day of Ukraine – digit "3" and stylized digit-like "0" in the shape of a color flower (pad printing) with the legends reading: "ТИ У МЕНЕ ЄДИНА" ("My One and Only") (the semicircular legend), "РОКІВ/НЕЗАЛЕЖНОСТІ/УКРАЇНИ" ("years of independence of Ukraine) (below).

On the Obverse of the 5 Hryvnia German Silver Coin, there is a composition symbolizing Ukraine – Ukraine`s small Coat of Arms above and against the sprawling picturesque fields depicted as stylized ornaments with storks, which are one of the symbols of Ukraine; the legends: "УКРАЇНА" ("Ukraine") (the semicircular legend to the right), "2021" (to the left from the Coat of Arms), face value of the coin "5 ГРИВЕНЬ" ("5 hryvnia") (the semicircular legend below); the mint mark of the NBU’s Banknote Printing and Minting Works (to the right).

On the Reverse of the 5 Hryvnia German Silver Coin is a color embroidered band (pad printing) symbolizing the nation’s code and resembling a DNA strand that carries genetic information that ensures the preservation, transmission, and reproduction of information; and the semicircular legends reading: "30 РОКІВ" ("30 years") (above to the left against the matte background) "НЕЗАЛЕЖНОСТІ УКРАЇНИ" ("of the Independence of Ukraine") (to the right against the smooth background).
