2036) 100th Anniversary of Åland's Autonomy (1921-2021),  Finland: A 2 Euro Collector Coin issued by the Mint of Finland, celebrating the milestone: Year of Coin issue: 2021:

Description:

Åland is an autonomous, demilitarised  and Swedish-speaking part of Finland.

The Finnish Parliament approved the Act on Åland autonomy in spring 1920, but the final solution was reached through arbitration by the League of Nations in 1921.

Finland retained sovereignty over Åland, but Åland got autonomy and guarantees for the Swedish language and the local culture and usages.

Åland has been following its own path and been building its own culture for almost 100 years now.

The centennial of the autonomy of Åland is being celebrated for a full year, starting on 09.06.2021. The jubilee year  celebration will peak on 09.06.2022, on the centennial of the Åland County Council’s first meeting in 1922.

The Commemorative Coin:

The design of the Finnish special euro coin, celebrating the Centenary Anniversary, is called "Vår väg" ("Our Road").

The Reverse of the 2 (Two) Euro Coin depicts an archipelagic scenery - a shipping lane with sea marks, the bow of a boat, and a hand holding a compass.

The field along the upper periphery features the text: "ÅLANDS SJÄLVSTYRELSE 100 ÅR," (meaning "Aland's Autonomy 100 Years" - in Finnish) and along the lower edge: "AHVENANMAAN ITSEHALLINTO 100 VUOTTA".

The specifications of this Coin are:

Country of issue: Finland; Coin Theme: "In Celebration of the Centennial of Åland Autonomy"; Year: 2021; Denomination/Face Value: 2 € (Two Euro); Metal Composition: (Bi-metallic) CuNi, CuZn20Ni5/Ni/CuZn20Ni5; Weight: 8.50 grams; Diameter/Size: 25.75 mm; Coin Quality: Proof (P) and Uncirculated (U); Mint: Finnish Mint; Combined Mintage: 800,000 pcs.
