2200) British Antarctic Territory (BAT): 60th Anniversary milestone (1962-2022): Pobjoy Mint, United Kingdom (UK) has issued new £2 Silver and Bi-metallic Commemorative Coins to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Territory’s formation: Year of Coins issue: 2022:

The Treasury of the British Antarctic Territory has released new commemorative £2 coins to mark the 60th Anniversary of the formation of the British Antarctic Territory (BAT). 

The Header/Banner shows the map of the British Antarctic Territory (BAT) and its Emblem, together with the Obverse and Reverse of the Bi-metallic base metal Coin

The coins have been minted by the Pobjoy Mint at their facilities in Surrey, England, on behalf of the Treasury of the British Antarctic Territory. 

The Reverse of the £2 (Two Pounds) Silver and Bi-metallic Coins shows an outline of Antarctica with the British Antarctic Territory highlighted within a marked sector alongside the coat of arms and the date of the anniversary. 

The commemorative inscription shown above and to the right of the primary design reads - "BRITISH ANTARCTIC TERRITORY 1962 — 2022", with the denomination "£2" placed below.

The Obverse of the £2 (Two Pounds) Silver and Bi-metallic Coins features an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, which is an exclusive design of the Pobjoy Mint.

 The Silver Proof Coins are encapsulated and presented in a Custom Case accompanied by a Certificate Of Authenticity (COA)

Country of issue: (The) Cook Islands; Year: 2022; Denomination/Face Value: £2 (Two Pounds); Metal Composition: Bi-Metallic; Weight: 12.00 grams; Diameter/Size: 28.40 mm; Coin Quality: Brilliant Uncirculated (BU); Mintage: 1,950 pieces;  Presentation: Blister-pak type folder; Certificate of Authenticity (COA): Yes.

The Brilliant Unc. base metal bi-metallic issues are presented in a blister-pak type folder with illustrations and informative text highlighting the 60th anniversary of the British Antarctica Territory Treaty.
