3862) A new 2,000 Tenge Banknote issued by the National Bank of Kazakhstan: This Banknote is part of a greater initiative called the "Saka Style" series which is the name of Ancient Tribes that live in Kazakhstan: Date/Year of Banknote issue: 25.12.2024:

The National Bank of Kazakhstan has released the design for the updated 2,000 tenge, which is part of a greater initiative called the "Saka Style" Banknote Series

The term Saka is the name for a collection of ancient tribes that resided in modern-day Kazakhstan.

The bank's website states, " The new bank note series is dedicated to the Saka culture, conveying the unique perspectives of our distant ancestors, their connection with nature, and the animal world of our vast territory. "

This series revamps the appearance of the country's bank notes with local wildlife, ancient cultural motifs, and modern innovations.

The series has been in effect since late 2023. In addition to including cultural and scientific images, these redesigns also provide updated security measurements.

The Banknote:

Back side:

The main images on the back side are:

- saigas against the background of a shield stylized by ornamentation;

- a circular Kazakh ornament representing a “shield” - a symbol of protection of values, an ancient symbol - the four cardinal directions, a solar sign in the center as a symbol of creative energy and life.

Also on the back side of the banknote is an artifact - the head of a saiga (Kurgan No. 4, 7th century BC, found in Danbarksoy parish, Kustanai county, Turgai Oblast, Kazakhstan). In the center of the banknote as a background there is an outline of the Kazakh ornament “infinity”, inside which there is an image of the Burabai lake.

The central images of the front side are:

– branch of the “Tree of Life” with a soaring bird (Issyk Mound, 5-4 centuries BC, detail of the headdress of the Golden Man, the sacred meaning of the connection between nature and belief);

– DNA spiral and infinity symbol stylized as an ornament, denoting the connection between man and nature;

– an artifact - an image of a horned animal as a symbol of abundance and wealth (Kyzyl-Togan Kurgan, 7-6 centuries BC, Zhetysu).

- Among the many details of the 2,000 tenge is a detail of the headdress of the Golden Man (a decorated skeleton found at Issyk Kurgan), a horned animal sculpture, and a DNA spiral on the face.

- The reverse features a saiga antelope, an ancient symbol of a Kazakh circular shield, and the outline of an infinity symbol encasing an illustration of Burabi Lake. The 2,000 tenge will be circulated in the second quarter of 2025.

- The next issue release will be the 1,000 tenge in early 2025.

The specifications of this Banknote are:

Date of issue: 25.12.2024; Size: 135.00 mm х 70.00 mm; Predominant colour: green.
