The Steunhardt Museum of Natural History, Israel National Centre for Biodiversity at Tel Aviv University:

The Steinhardt Museum of Natural History in Israel is a natural history museum which includes both education and a research centre.

The 9620 square metres five storey museum building was designed as a "Treasure Box" or "Noah's Ark".

It is the largest and most active centre in Israel of documentation and science, focussing on biodiversity research and its varied applications including nature conservation, environmental protection and agriculture.

Exhibition spaces comprise over 1,700 square metres in nine themed exhibitions - Bird Migration, Israel's diversity of ecosystems/Natural habitats, bugs and beyond, life in the dark, animal shape, structure and functions, human impacts on the environment, the web of life, the collections treasuries.

The museum is well known for the discovery, collections, development and care, and scientific treasures and imparting knowledge to the public and the scientific and professional community.

The Museum's collections have some 5.5 million items accumulated by many scientists from Tel Aviv University campus, across the Diaspora Museum gate, adjacent to the Botanic Gardens and I. Meier Segals Garden for Zoological Research.

The construction of the Museum building was made possible following the support of Michael Steinhardt, former  Chairman of the Board of Governors of Tel Aviv University and his wife Judy, as well as, donations from other foundations, ministries and individuals.

The Museum opened to the public in 07/2018. 

The Commemorative Stamps:

The First Day Cover (FDC) at the lower section shows an image of the Steinhardt Museum of Natural History in Tel Aviv. The three stamps of 4.10 NIS (New Israeli Shekels) are affixed at top right.

The FDC is titled "Steinhardt Museum of Natural History" at left in three languages.

The Special Cancellation Handstamp features a flock of birds in flight and is dated -"16.12.2020".
