On 19.03.2021 the United Nations Postal Administration will issue three mini-sheets of ten stamps each, on the theme “United Against Racism and Discrimination”.

The International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination is 21 March annually.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has been at the forefront of the fight against racism since its creation in 1945.

In 1978, it adopted the Declaration on Race and Racial Prejudice which reaffirms that “All human beings belong to a single species and are descended from a common stock. They are born equal in dignity and rights and all form an integral part of humanity”. This quote appears on the stamp sheets in English, French and German respectively.

The Stamps:

For this Stamp Series, the UNPA has focussed on the "UNESCO Master Class Series" to combat Racism and Discriminations

Launched in 11/2019 as a global “training for trainers” initiative, the series seeks to empower students to become youth champions in their own schools and communities and spread awareness on how to deconstruct the mechanisms underlying racism and discriminations.

Using a human rights-based approach, the courses address various topics related to inclusion and non-discrimination, such as racial discrimination, gender-based discrimination, rights of indigenous peoples and discrimination against persons with disabilities.

“The Master Class” series artwork which appears on the stamp sheets, was designed by Abracadabra Design Studio (Mexico).

The three Stamps denominated in $1.20, CHF 2.00 and 1.80 Euro, each with a different design, but communicating the same message - "UNITED AGAINST RACISM AND DISCRIMINATION".

The First Day Cover (FDC) has all the three stamps issued affixed at right. The messages contained thereon in different languages as placed at left - "UNITED AGAINST RACISM AND DISCRIMINATION".
