4174) Monnaie de Paris has teamed up with Thomas Pesquet for a Space Odyssey, Republic of France (Francaise Republique): Four Silver Coins portray the 10th Astronaut who participated in two exceptiona' missions in space - Proxima in 2016-2017 and Alpha in 2021: Date/Year of Coins issue: 10.10.2025:
Join the astronaut on a space odyssey that will take you on a journey through our solar system. This collection is an opportunity to take a new look at the Earth, its beauty but also its fragility.
Thomas Pesquet is the tenth French astronaut and the first of them to command the International Space Station (ISS).
During his two missions in space, Proxima in 2016-2017 and Alpha in 2021, he shared his scientific adventure, his daily life on the Station and his photos of our planet, particularly via social networks. He made millions of people dream.
His travels were also an awakening; an opportunity to take a new look at the Earth, its beauty and fragility. Monnaie de Paris joins forces with Thomas Pesquet to call for care of our planet.
This collection invites us to join the astronaut in weightlessness. It pays tribute to the space adventure that is always projecting towards new horizons, but above all to our Earth, magnificent but fragile.
The eternal silence of these infinite spaces when the astronauts travel in outer space... amazes us.
The Coin Series:
This series is composed of four collector's coins.
On the front is an astronaut looking at the Earth with the stars reflected in his helmet.
We can also see the Moon, Man's first destination outside the Earth. On the flip side, we find the Earth, the Moon, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, linked together by the path of a rocket in full exploration.
This series is completed by commemorative coins where we rediscover the main planets of our solar system colourised in the open palm of an astronaut accompanied by the diameter of the planet and its rotation time.
The Header/Banner presents the Reverses of the three Coins against a background image of Thomas Pesquet in spaceOn the Reverse of the 100 Euro Silver Coin, the Earth is represented in the open palm of an astronaut. In the background, we can recognise a sky full of stars. This drawing gives the observer the impression of being in the helmet of the astronaut who has managed to grab the planet to admire it. Along the scroll of the coin are inscribed the words "12,756 km" and "23:56" which are the diameter of the Earth and its rotation time.
On the Obverse of the 100 Euro Silver Coin, the face value is surrounded by two branches, one of oak, the other of laurel, which evoke the symbol of the Euro. The entire motif of this face is framed by "République Française" as well as an assembly of lines representing the Hexagon.

The back and back of this coin complement each other to tell the story of a space odyssey.
On the Reverse of this 10 Euro Silver Coin, an astronaut tilts his head towards the Earth.
Through this movement, he signifies his attachment to our planet, which represents both his origins and his mission. In his polished helmet, the stars that surround him are reflected. Near the Earth, in the distance, the Moon, Man's first destination outside the Earth, stands out among the stars.
In the major part, the Earth inhabits the lower part of the drawing. Above it orbits the Moon. Floating in the middle of a galaxy of stars, we also find the planets Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, connected to each other by lines drawn by the path of a rocket in full exploration.
The sun extends its rays over the universe from the right of the composition.
