Battle Honour: – Tiger Hill and Tololing.
Nicknamed Param Vir Chakra Paltan after the PVC won by
Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav.
The concept of 'Grenadiers' evolved from the practice of selecting the bravest and most influential men for the most dangerous tasks in combat.
The Special Cover (SC) is titled "18 Grenadiers" and presents the Regimental emblem/insignia of the Regiment at left. There is a picture of the soldiers of the Battalion after they had captured Tiger Hill and routed the Pakistani infantry.
