3145) Specialised World Stamp Championship Exhibition, Bangkok, Thailand: Organised from 27.11.2023 to 02.12.2023: India Post participated in the Philatelic Exhibition:
"THAILAND 2023" Specialised World Stamp Championship Exhibition was held for the following purposes:
- To celebrate the 72nd Birth Anniversary of King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua.
- To celebrate 140th Anniversary of the first Thai Postage Stamp and Postal Services.
- To promote friendly relations and maintain close co-operation amongst the philatelists and stamp collectors throughout the world.
- To promote philately and stamp collecting at the highest international level.
THAILAND 2023 was organised by the Philatelic Association of Thailand (P.A.T.) under the patronage Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn with full support of Thailand Post Co.,Ltd. in accordance to FIP (Federation Internationale de Philatelie) General Regulations for Exhibitions.
The Exhibition was held at the Grand Postal Building, Bangkok, Thailand.
The Exhibition opened on November 27, 2023 and closed on December 2, 2023.
India Post participated in the Exhibition and presented the following Special Covers:
1) Gautam Buddha - Special Cover presented by India Post on 27.11.2023:
The Special Cancellation Post mark presents the Buddha and was the first Special Cover presented by India Post on 27.11.2023 (also the date of cancellation of the Cover).
This Special Cover presents various statues of Mahatma Gautam Buddha in deep meditation.
The 500 Paise (or Rs.5/-) stamp affixed at top right is from a set of stamps by India Post on 2550 years of Mahaparinirvana of the Buddha issued in on 02.05.2007. This Special Cover has Mahatma Gandhi's image at left. I have several posts on Mahatma Gandhi on this blog.
This round Postage Stamp was issued by India Post in a set of stamps brought out in 2018. The special cancellation postmark bears an image of Mahatma Gandhi in the centre. The cancellation is dated - "28.11.2023".

3) The Special Cover released by India Post on 29.11.2023 presents an Indian Elephant and an Indian Tiger in their natural habitat.
The 500 Paise (or Rs.5/-) stamp affixed at top right is from a set of stamps issued by India Post on 16.03.2020 on UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India.
The Special Cancellation postmark features an India elephant and a tiger. The Date of Cancellation is - "29.11.2023".

4) On 30.11.2023 a Special Cover was issued by India Post celebrating the "Lotus" - the National Flower of India:
This Special Cover exhibits the Lotus - the National Flower of India at left. At top right is affixed a postage stamp.
The 500 Paise (or Rs.5/-) postage stamp affixed at top right shows a postage stamp released by India POst on 16.03.2020 titled "Nanda Devi and Valley of Flowers National Parks.
The special cancellation post mark exhibits the National Flower - Lotus - in the centre.

5) On 01.12.2023 a Special Cover was issued by India Post depicting Yoga/Yogic Asanas/Poses - Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India and aim to control (yoke) and still the mind:
This Special Cover depicts various "Yogic Asanas" at left. At top right is affixed a postage stamp from a set of stamps issued by India Post in 2019 depicting a pose in the "Surya Namaskar" (Salutations to the Sun").
6) On 02.12.2023 a Special Cover was issued by India Post depicting - a dancer, the Peacock (National Bird of India, an Indian musical instrument and the Gateway of India: This Special Cover presents the four items described above at left.
At top right is affixed a postage stamp of 500 Paise (Rs.5/-) titled - "Qutb Minar and its Monuments" issued by India Post on 15.08.2020.
The Back of the envelope is identical to the above image in every Special Cover.
