Treasures of ancient civilizations:

The relief of the seventh silver coin in the series, which represents the treasures of ancient civilizations, features many of the landmarks of ancient Egypt.

If preserved depictions are taken into account, Queen Nefertiti, wife of Pharaoh Akhenaten, engaged in activities intended for men - driving off enemy troops and presiding at ceremonies.

At the height of the Egyptian empire, she was considered the most powerful woman in the world. But even after three millennia, she is remembered primarily as a mesmerising beauty, thanks to a bust made of stucco and coloured limestone during the Era of 18th Dynasty.

Ramesses II - belonged to the greatest rulers of ancient Egypt. This 19th dynasty pharaoh, who ruled his empire for sixty years, was a warrior who spread culture and left behind a number of breathtaking monuments.

The most famous is his Great Temple at Abu Simbel, which unlike other Egyptian monuments was not built of stone blocks, however, it was carved directly into the rock mass. While the statues outside the temple are eye-catching for their size, the statues inside were placed so that the sun's rays would only hit them twice a year - at the spring and autumn equinoxes.

The largest religious complex in ancient Egypt was Karnak. The entrance to the main temple, which was dedicated to the sun god Amon, was guarded by an alley of sandstone statues.

These majestic sphinxes were given the body of a lion, but you would miss typical human faces. Instead, they boast the head of a ram, which was Amon's sacred animal. Each sphinx holds the figure of a pharaoh in its paws, which shows that the ruler - probably Ramesses II - was under Amon's protection.

The Coin:

The Reverse of the $2 (Two Dollars) commemorative coin made by the academic sculptor Ľudmila Cvengrošová presents a detailed depiction of the bust of Queen Nefertiti, the Great Temple in Abu Simbel and the Sphinx Alley in Karnak.

A portrait of Rameses II of Abu Simbel completes the composition.

The peripheral inscriptions are - "1304. ABU SIMBAL. 1836 . TEBY. CN 2017 (Designer). BERLIN 1342. KARNAK 1580."

The Obverse of the $2 (Two Dollars) commemorative coin.

As the licence to issue commemorative coins of the Czech Mint is granted by the Pacific island of Niue, the Obverse bears its necessary attributes - the "National Emblem", the denominational value of "2 DOLLAR (NZD)" and the year of issue "2024".

The products are usually stored in protective capsules, but in this case the Mint has made an exception

Since the coins from the Treasures of ancient civilizations series stand out in high relief, the Mint wants to give the buyer an opportunity to touch one!

In addition to the patina, the silver mintage is also covered with a special protective film that will secure that it does not lose its shine...
