3402) New Caribbean Guilder and coin designs for the Centrale Bank Curacao & Sint Maarten:
The designs for the new Caribbean guilder bank notes and coins were revealed on Aug. 22, 2024, during a launch event in Curaçao and Sint Maarten. The new currency will replace the Netherlands Antillean guilder, which has been in circulation on the former island of the Netherlands Antilles since 1952.
The design of the new Caribbean Guilder draws inspiration from the "World Under the Sea".
The Front of the banknotes depicts the vibrant marine life native to Curaçao and Sint Maarten and symbolises the unity of the two countries.
The Back of the banknotes showcases significant historical and cultural landmarks of both countries.
The bank notes are designed with a traditional landscape-oriented front and a vertical orientation for the Back.
The Caribbean Guilder banknote series consists of five bank notes of the following denominations - 10 Cg, 20 Cg, 50 Cg, 100 Cg, and 200 Cg. Each denomination has a specific colour.
