About Europa 2023 - Stamps:

They bear the official EUROPA logo, a PostEurop registered trademark under the aegis of PostEurop in which Europe is the central theme.

EUROPA stamp issues are among the most collected and most popular stamps in the world and have been issued for over 60 years.

Every year a new theme is assigned by PostEurop and all participating countries issue stamps with their own interpretation of the theme. The theme for 2023 is "Peace - The Highest value of Humanity"

More about EUROPA Postage Stamps:

EUROPA Postage stamps (also known as Europa - CEPT - European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations - until 1992) are special stamps issued by European Postal Administrations/Enterprises and bears the official EUROPA logo, a PostEurop registered trademark under the aegis of PostEurop in which Europe is the central theme.

EUROPA stamps underline cooperation in the posts domain, aimed at promotion of philately. They also build awareness of the common roots, culture and history of Europe and its common goals.

As such, EUROPA stamp issues are among the most collected and most popular stamps in the world.

Since the first issue in 1956, EUROPA stamps have been a tangible symbol of Europe's desire for closer integration and co-operation.

In 1993, PostEurop became responsible for issuing EUROPA stamps.

When CEPT decided to focus more on telecommunications in 1993, PostEurop took over the management of the Europa issues. The CEPT logo was replaced by a new logo created by PostEurop i.e. the word "EUROPA" leaning towards the right hand side.

Each year, PostEurop's "Stamps & Philately Group" selects the EUROPA stamp theme:

The EUROPA Stamps issued by Srpska Post  feature the theme "Peace - The highest value of Humanity":

About Europa - Peace - The Highest Value of Humanity:

Peace is a concept of societal friendship and harmony in the absence of hostility and violence.

In a social sense, peace is commonly used to mean a lack of conflict (such as war) and freedom from fear of violence between individuals or groups.

Throughout history, leaders have used peacemaking and diplomacy to establish a type of behavioral restraint that has resulted in the establishment of regional peace or economic growth through various forms of agreements or peace treaties.

Such behavioral restraint has often resulted in the reduced conflict, greater economic interactivity, and consequently substantial prosperity.

Peace is usually defined as a period without wars. It can refer to an agreement to end the war or end the occupation. Other definitions of peace include freedom from strife, tranquility, harmony or inner contentment, and cheerfulness...because the meaning of the word peace changes with context. A simple and non-extensive definition of peace says that peace is the absence of wars, as the Romans also defined it.

The international organisation responsible for maintaining peace between nations is the United Nations, whose goals are to facilitate cooperation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights, and ultimately the achievement of world peace.

In the history of civilization, peace has always been the ideal state of society, but unfortunately, history is primarily characterized by the state of war and the armed resolution of conflict situations. That war is the dominant way of resolving conflicts in the history of civilization is also shown by the need of the international community to regulate the state of war with the Geneva Convention, which is still current today.

The discussion of peace is therefore simultaneously a discussion of the form of such peace. Is it simply the absence of war or does peace require special morality and justice? Peace must be seen in at least two forms: the simple silence of arms, the absence of war, and the absence of war accompanied by special requirements for the establishment of mutual relations, characterized by terms such as justice, mutual respect, respect for the law, and goodwill.

Peace, in every sense of the word, is man's greatest wealth. "There is no way to peace. "Peace is the way", said Mahatma Gandhi....."For my cause I am ready to die, but for no cause, my friend, I am not ready to kill".
