The Header/Banner depicts the Reverse of the 1,000 Francs (CFA) Silver Coin against a background of sand, ocean, blue sky with clouds, a starfish, a pair of shades symbolising someone having a great time on the beach.
Beer is an alcoholic drink, having its roots in ancient history. It is one of the most popular drinks around the world, coming in the form of many different tastes and colours. Beer is produced by the process of fermentation of starches, and of course brewing. It’s also a staple drink in many different pubs and bars.
The Pilsner is a type of beer, categorized under the pale lagers. It’s named after a Bohemian city, called Pilsen. This is also where it was first brewed by a Bavarian brewer, Josef Groll, in 1842. Since then, the Pilsner has become one of the most popular beers. The Pilsner has a very light and clear yellow/ golden colour, the alcoholic strength is often between 4% – 5%.
About the evolution of Beer over time:
Historically speaking , "The Babylonian Code of Hammurabi" dates from around 1750 BC, and is probably one of the oldest, and most important legal texts in existence. So, what’s that got to do with beer? Within its many rules and regulations are laws covering the production and selling of beer.
It is believed that if someone ordering a Beer was given an undersize "pint" by a "barman", he could be put to death by drowning, for example.
Everyone in Babylon was entitled to a daily allowance, with priests getting five litres a day, and there were recipes for at least twenty different types of beers.
The drink actually dates back to at least 3400 BC, and was a popular offering in Ancient Egypt and Sumeria, as well.
Beer remained a part of everyday life right up until today, where it remains the most popular drink in the world after water and tea. It is produced by the brewing and fermentation of starches, mainly hops and malted grains, along with yeast.
